Is he the most negative head coach we have ever had countless games with 0 shots on goal. Today we get a corner in the 86th minute instead of commiting more men forward and drawing there forwards back we keep 3 out field players back... just go for the win played for a point that 2nd half timewasting etc and it came back to bite us on the arse. He has to go at the end of season. Clueless
We need to win games so I don’t understand how he can go to a game with no attempt to attack Coventry. It was all set up for us playing for a 0-0 and hope for a miracle. Strangely it didn’t happen.
Said it after the game against QPR. Was nice to see us shoot, and throw the dice by shooting from outside the box. The manager has said in public that he doesn’t want us shooting from outside the box, which is ridiculous. I hoped that the qpr game would make him change his mind, it seems he’s told the lads all week in training to stop doing that, and again we’re trying to walk it in. He has to go, useless!
At least he isn't a liar. He did say last week that he doesn't want to involve the opposition goalkeeper and the man sticks to his word
I was absolutely astounded when our penny pinching owners put their hands in their pockets to get rid of one underachieving manager, in Schopp. I seriously can’t see that happening for a second time so think we’re stuck with this one for the foreseeable.
Hopefully theres a clause in his contract like morais were relegation means his contract is terminated. The position were in and he sets the team up not wanting to commit players forward put crosses in the box or have shots on goal unbelievable.
I can only assume that Poya is so cheap that his wages plus schopps pay off is still a net saving for them. If it isn't then we've overpaid for Ass baggy
I don't think he's been told about that bit from the way he speaks. Must be in minute print if it's in his contract!
No chance would he get a team promoted he would get a nose bleed if we actually went out to win a game. 0 attacking intent.
He/the team isn't acting/playing like Poya has a relegation clause though. It looks like we have him for the foreseeable future
1 win in 16 is it? The worst manager in Barnsley history. I wont be going next season with him there never seen anything like it. A relegation dog fight were we set up for a draw and countless games with 0 shots on goal.
He didn't use those words but it's clearly what he was getting at when he said he didn't want to involve the opposition goalkeeper and that there were better ways than long range shots. In the past he's also said that no shots on target isn't necessarily a bad thing as there are other measures of success apart from shots.
He said something similar when radio Sheffield pulled up another game v Huddersfield where we failed to have a shot on goal.
Considering he won a trophy in Sweden and managed his country to a record breaking run of games, this isn't actually true is it? He's underperforming for sure. I question plenty of his decisions and he has to take the brunt of the blame for so many winless games. But we setup the same today as we did for QPR, but we individual performances weren't as good. Sadly, because our squad is so poor overall, when that happens we're not going to dominate football matches. Brittain and Quina were passengers and we just can't afford passengers when our attacking options are almost zero.
He actually didn't though did he? Classic case of taking a headline on Twitter and making it a story. Happy to be proven wrong.
No, it wasn't clearly what he was getting at. He meant that speculative shots from long range that don't trouble the keeper aren't necessarily better than chances where you fail to hit the target. He wasn't saying the players are told not to shoot from long range, which is what many people now imply. But I guess that just shows how desperate this season has been and how toxic it is in terms of the fan base's feelings. Which is understandable.
I said it when he was announced - draw specialist in the Swedish league with a big club didn’t bode well for the kind of football we’d all like to see. God knows what the owners thought they were getting apart from a don’t lose first mentality.
