Im just going on what ive seen so far here and his tactics and the people above signing the players looks like a recipe for disaster to me.
Bit of a coincidence that you've got a manager saying that and the team the manages avoiding shooting from range and yet the two aren't linked and it isn't an instruction. In my opinion the reason they aren't is because he is telling them not to
No idea. But success is success and is all relative no? Took a team that finished 12th the season before to 7th and a cup triumph. I'd like to have that level of success in my career personally - especially with what followed with getting the U21 job.
I'd love to hear any measurement of success for this season. Perhaps social distancing in the stands?
Regardless of what he says or how people interpret his words it’s 1 win since he took over. Spectemur Agendo
That's your opinion though. Fair. Based on what you witness when you watch us play and is valid. Saying the Head Coach actively tells the players not to shoot, given we do shoot but still don't hit the target, is pure speculation at best and not as valid. I don't personally see the coincidence because I don't interpret it anywhere even close to what you do. But as I said, that's natural when feelings are like they are. Important we stay on facts though and not twisting things in to made up stuff.
I've always felt that John McSeveney was Barnsley's most negative manager. Sadly, this bloke beats him all ends up. It makes last Saturday's result & performance look like a freak and a flash in the pan.
Yes it is success but I reckon I'd be successful if I entered an under 11s shot-put competition at Dorothy hymen. Not all success is equal
He won a cup competition in an extremely poor country with a standard of football that is lower than Israel. You use that as evidence that he's a good manager. I don't think it makes him a good manager at all. Odd-job scored for fun in the lower leagues but he wasn't a good striker
Surely a lot of managers have managed to move 5 places up a league, really not getting what was so special about that?
Not strictly true. You're trying to suggest something was said that I strongly believe wasn't said at all. Deliberately because the knives are out for this manager. I'd say it's a made up headline. But yes, because it doesn't match my opinion I guess and we're talking about something a bit more factual. If you were saying x player played well/poorly I wouldn't say you were making it up. Again though, let's leave it there.
Poya is way way out of his depth. He would struggle in league 2 . To be worse than flipflop took some beating
Where did I say he was a good manager with us? I said he's had success. You tried to suggest him managing a team of grown ups, in a league full of grown ups of a similar level, was the same as you going and beating the U11's at hammer throw or something. Poor analogy right?
Never said anything was special about it Helen. But it's not a failure. Especially given it's a league with only 16 teams so 7th vs. 12th presents a very different outlook league table wise.
Negative Negative Negative… we’re paying hard earn cash to want to be able to watch our team fight and attack this relegation battle…we’ve been in some relegation battles in my time and even Jose morais went for it….. for the good of this club ….PLEASE WALK
Don't necessarily see that as an achievement tbh. Obviously not a failure but not the success that I'd have hoped for from a new European manager.
