I can blame moon for air-kicking more than actually kicking. I totally agree though, it's the coaching staff that keep putting him out there.
That was all about firstly the individual player's goal conceding **** up that is made each game, and secondly our long running bare cupboard of an attacking threat. A further minor point is that Styles is perpetually played out of position, which handicaps us further. We were quite well organised otherwise, it seemed to me.
Hondermarck who's never played wing back in his career at professional level? I guess I come from a position where I don't see the clamour for him to be so involved. Doesn't mean I'm right, but I just don't see it based on away at Stoke and at home to Sheff United. Played ok in a dour performance away at Boro as a CB though.
Just before the goal Anderson made a stupid mistake but got away with it (and it wasn’t his first today). But Moon is the current whipping boy and it’s good to have confirmation as to how bad he is isn’t it?
Exactly this. It’s the model and the clowns who are forcing the poor lad to player who are to blame. Cos they think they can build a profit out of his potential.
That went well wasnt it moons defending that cost us looked like him at the time havent seen the replay? Cant even put his foot through a ball but least he has a long throw.
The coaches have already said that they’re retraining him to be a centre back or a wing back, and think his last appearance was there as well, and has been playing there for the u23s. Imo, a better option than disrupting the back 3, particularly with a player who’s confidence must be shredded.
It took a mistake for a goal today. We defended well but still have nothing up front. No room for Matty Wolfe today, but room for Moon? Don’t want to get on the lad’s case but his learning curve is costing us.
Struber had him out "left half" or "wing back" and that's where Val had him. That in my opinion is where he became established in our team and where he looked a class act, and so this season he has been played out of position.
In a game we needed to win we had ZERO shots on target. Being well organised (if you think we were) doesn't win 3 pts scoring goals does
I used to live in Goldthorpe. The only highlight was that it wasn't Thurnscoe. I see they've built a bypass now, so you can avoid on a trip from Barnsley to Donny.
An individual mistake cost us a point. Poya setting up to leave Morris stranded cost us all 3. And our board, failing to bring in a manager like Warnock who can manage relegation dogfights in his sleep have cost us our last remaining chance of 2nd division football next season.
I started life in Thurnscoe and moved to Bolton on Dearne when I was 4. My best mate lived in Goldthorpe and we along with a lad that lived in thurnscoe, mis-spent our youth in the Halfway Hotel at Highgate. The Goldthorpe bypass is a wonderful thing, sadly Goldthorpe isn't..... still more fun to chat about than the football though
Imho What i saw today was an energetic performance trying their best. Coventry were much the better team and again but for their final ball and shooting the game should have been over long before they did score. We set up to try nick it... but we were poor mostly in possesion. Amongst other things we lack pace and the ability to pass well....this is personified by Palmer, who had another poor game. Another poster stated with just two players missing why are we so poor compared to last season. Well its because we lack quality...and Bassi was a big miss. Britain looked like he has all season but we can forgive him that today as hes missed loads of games and needs to get up to speed. Tactically we wernt set up to win a game and we just cant with our defence which is littered with errors and has all season long. I honestly thought that Cov were never going to score if they had played all night but of course teams just dont have to be all that great to beat us!
Which is why my second point was that we have have an absolute dearth of a goal threat due to an absence of good forwards. You won't score if nobody is capable of scoring. If you think that pushing more players forward in an effort to score will do the trick, then with our team we will just end up conceding more goals and have no chance whatsoever of getting a result. We were playing to try and nick a result today, not overwhelm the opposition with goal efforts. A point would have been an acceptable result. One mistake scuppered that.
