    Er yes you did?!?!

"See my details re rally drivers, which is physically more demanding than roundy roundy racing."

Seriously, you behave like a child. It's really patronising.

I honestly believe that on a difficult/dangerous climb you spend much of the time avoiding plunging to your death, so much so that you don't notice the height you gain. On a simple grassy bank you may be more aware of how little apparent progress you are making. Mind over matter. Agree about chairlifts though :D

Im just sleep deprived with a newborn and having to go to work on top of it.

My patience is thin at the moment and I don't like it when people on here can't have the decency to just admit they're wrong sometimes instead of arguing further to the point they even deny what they've written.

Nobody is perfect. It is about respecting others on here and valuing their standpoints and contribution, not disregarding it and patronising others, putting stuff like, "I'll type this slowly..." I mean, how patronising is that?

This is why I no longer respond directly to him. Maybe it's just the way he comes across in text as things can be read very differently to how the author intended them.

I agree with a lot of his views but I don't like the way he goes about it with such a patronising tone.

I'm afraid there are too many people pissing me off on here at the moment and its probably time for a little time out. I dont want to be arguing with people.

10 years ago I was similar, and lost a few friends because of it. I slowly learnt that arguments on here were futile, as even after several hours and hundreds of posts, everyone still had the same opinions. What's the point? I learnt to just ignore it and not get involved. My tactic was to stick to posting drivel, disguised as humour. I reckon you could be quite good at that :D

I'm just picking this specific post at random so my reply isn't specific to this one at all it's just in general reply to the F1 debate.

You're right, F1 drivers aren't big bulky monsters like sprinters or rugby players, but you're wrong in saying that they aren't strong. They don't have huge thighs like Chris Hoy or massive biceps like a boxer but they do have necks that are stronger than many other people. Their strength is very specific but very high.

The g forces they experience could literally kill a 'normal' person and it's something that naturally men find it easier to have a strength in that women dont. Of course some women will be able to train to have necks strong enough to compete but it is much harder for women to achieve that strength than a man.

The next thing is leg strength. They do not look it because you do not see their legs but I assure you they have extremely strong legs and ankles. There are many examples of a normal racing driver or TV presenter getting into a formula one car and braking with all their strength only to be told 'well done, you managed to put 50% pressure on the brake pedal and sometimes only 40% or below. This is because they aren't anywhere near strong enough to apply the brakes in the way that an F1 driver does.

As for your comment about roundy roundy drivers not being as strong as rally drivers, well that's just wrong. Whilst rally drivers may well be better drivers that doesn't in any way suggest physically stronger.
I personally believe that F1 drivers are the best at clinical driving and rally drivers are the best at pure aggressive racing. Occasionally you get ones who are brilliant at both.

Are there women who have the strength to be F1 drivers? Absolutely.
Are there as many women who have the strength to be a formula driver as there are men? Nowhere near. Biologically they have an uphill battle in trying to get there.
Am I, as a man, anywhere near as strong as many million women? Not a chance.

Me too because at the end of the day you just end up annoying people who by and large you have a lot of respect for and what's the point really? I've had disagreements with you in the past and have I ever come away feeling better? Not once. I've left the site feeling absolutely s h i t to be honest. Same goes with disagreements with Donny red and Jimmy Vis and many many other people. There isn't a single person on here who I wouldn't buy a drink for to apologise for one of my many arguments if I could (piss off you aren't all getting one).

I honestly don't know how certain posters manage to restrain themselves when they clearly have strong feelings. They're better people than I am that's for sure

I blame you for the F1 thing. You put Murray Walker in their head with your anything can happen comment.

    You cheeky *beeeeep* :D:D
Actually if you tasted my mum's cooking growing up you'd know they're usually useless at that too and it's a myth that they're good at it.

On second thoughts, you're right. I forgot that the sink was in the kitchen...

If anyone wants me I'll be hiding behind the sofa
