Well in reds tonight .. well deserved. Dare we dream.. Beat Boro satdi and it will give us some hope. Maybe.. But we looked a team tonight..
Well done lads....no suprise that playing...Quina...bassi...gomez produced another very good display (mainly first half). Hull very very poor...we desserved 3 points....ohhh btw stylsey please put boots with studs in....ice skating most of that game.
Could have done with the point we lost at the weekend. We've a lot of matches in very little time so things could look a lot better or worse in 2-3 weeks from now.
To be fair the Luton and Coventry first halfs we were on the front foot and committing players foreward but just lacked any cutting edge.I thought Bassi set the tone with his foreward thinking in the first half tonight.
Yes, and we should've gone for it on Saturday against Coventry. PA said he'd have been happy with a point against them, and you could see this attitude transmitting to the players that day, so negative. Draws are no good; just go for it. Also I don't know the market value of Quina, Bassi and Vita, but we should try and sign all three in the summer. The first two drive us forward, and Vita also does his bit, as well as defending well. And a mention too for Jordan Williams who was really good tonight, both defensively and also raiding forward at times.
Although I haven't met you I imagined it as I read it, very quick witted The first time tonight where I had the option to watch (iFollow) and couldn't face it. Maybe I should miss it more often
I don't think it was a case of Hull being rubbish, I thought we played really well and stopped them playing. We're weak in midfield, we have no experience and no great strength. To combat that you can add numbers. So that's what Poya's done. We essentially played 6 across midfield tonight. It's unconventional but it worked. Hull couldn't find a pass to a team mate because invariably one of our six midfield players was stood in the way. And when we had the ball the midfield supported Morris well. Morris aside (and Woodrow when fit and on it) we're also weak in attack. Best way to combat that is don't play any of 'em! Why we persisted so long with a front 3 when at least 2 of them are hopeless I'll never understand. Of course you'll lose. MOTM - Jordan Williams. IMHO he's a so-so wing back/full back, on either side, but he excels in a back 3 and uses his great pace to carry the ball out of defence and add an extra body to the attack. But I thought we played well as a team and that Poya set them up very well, giving us an advantage, utilising the strengths of our players and minimising their weaknesses. Well done all.
I thought first half against Coventry we did go for it tactically but we're just devoid of any quality, less said about the second half the better Totally agree about the loan players, but we'd need to get rid of four or five fringe players and the odd first teamer too if we can find some taker's.
The best performance of the season for me. Lovely football in the first half and two excellently taken goals. In the second half, I thought we were solid at the back throughout. A comfortable and thoroughly deserved three points. I'm not going to claim that this win means we can, or will, avoid relegation. I'm simply going to enjoy our first away victory of the season. Everyone played well tonight, but I'm going for Matty Wolfe as my MOTM.
