russia and the ukraine have been at it for centuries, just think sevastapol=year round warm water port with access to the med and atlantic
The bit I'm struggling to get my head around is Putin's comment about "anyone taking on the Russians". Isn't putting in sanctions and supplying Ukraine with weapons "taking on the Russians". Are we going to be attacked?
Try not to worry. They haven't got the capability or will to attack every country. The West has been quite happy cosying up to Putin while giving it the "madman" rhetoric. I
Johnson is going to address the nation, NATO and the G7 leadership this morning on the crucial issues facing him. He will say he didn't realise it was a party and in any case he left early, and in fact wasn't there anyway. (and what's that rumbling noise coming from Eastern Europe?)
Great post but missing one huge challenging point. Europe is absolutely reliant on Gas and Energy from Russia. We are already in a huge energy crisis. Fuel prices have already started to soar on the back of today’s news. Whether people like it or not, Putin has played a great strategic game for years, which has built to this point. Governments and Capital Cities corrupted by Russian money, influenced by KGD like operatives. Russia leads the world in cyber warfare, we are reliant on their gas, they influence and have influenced elections including brexit. He has toyed with the West’s weakness which is out and out greed.
TBF ( and in his case I don't like being) everyone with an ounce of sense would have cut any ties with Russia by then
I'm reading reports and surmising that this invasion will be over in no time as the Russian forces are relatively unopposed.
Not sure about that. They still hold thousands of nuclear warheads. And if they wanted to, could hit every country four-fold at least. If what I read earlier is true, they still have more nukes than any other country in the world. Nobody dare do it, due to the MAD theory. I always thought North Korea would actually end up being the one that did chuck one of these somewhere...... It only takes one to kick it all off, and we will have more nukes flying around the skies then planes
In which case we'll all be dead anyway. There have been plenty of " madmen" in power with nuclear capacity. The only ones to use it were the Americans.
