Not energy but for Natural Gas (we were talking of Nodstream 2) for Germany in 2020 (latest reported figures) -

Total Gas imports (million cubic metres - 82, 262
    Imports from Russia - 42, 649

In fact Germany has been reducing it's usage of Russian gas (and gas full stop) , from a high of 62,079 in 2017.

Obviously a nuclear war is not the answer, but Russia are not the only country with nuclear capabilities. If Putin went down that road,he must realise his country will be nuked also.

Why then is ND2 necessary when the current system is more than adequate?

Are we talking about the same Trump who withheld military aid to Ukraine unless they carried out politically motivated investigations into his rival's family members?

The Trump who refused to condemn or even acknowledge Russia placing bounties on American troops?

The bloke who gave highly classified information to Russia jeopardising intelligence sources?

It's harsh but all we can do is leave Putin to get on with it. We have no alternative.

OK, Nordstream 2 has been in the planning and creation for years and years, geo-politics had a lot to do with it. There is part of the German psyche that says they need to make reparations with Russia because of all that unpleasantness in the past.

However, politics and energy technology and environmentalism has moved on.

It could of course just be that less gas has been required.

He has 2 options really do what hes doing with sanctions with the west which russia wont care about. Or send troops to help ukraine push back russians.
I know which one is safest and i would do but like DWLC says if little or nothing is done will putin carry on.
