If you want to perpetuate the stereotype that anyone that does something bad or evil must be mentally ill then go for it. I on the other hand think carefully about using such language and think about how reading such comments impact on people experiencing mental health problems and worrying about what others might think about them for that.

Perhaps if you worked with people day in day out like I do who are terrified of opening up to others about their mental health due to fears of what others think you wouldnt make such comments.

It is 2022 for god's sake.

The Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson has just answered a question about other countries contemplating joining Nato (Finland and Sweden essentially).

And loosely suggesting others threatening the security of Russia could face military action.

I don't get Russia, they have the resources, the technical know-how and the manpower to be a brilliant player on the world stage, yet they desperately cling to this "everybody hates" us line.

Just don't be knobs, be a useful global partner, it's not hard.

You can add a fair few countries to such a list.

If you applied some sorting or scale, ironically, or maybe as a direct cause... the worst ones are probably the biggest.

Maybe Starmer should concentrate on having a go at Boris and his Russian friends , the ones he partied with in Italy as Foreign Secretary leading to to M16 suggesting he was a security risk , rather than members of his own party who have a different view to him , one I don’t agree with
i wonder what the odds are on the Ukrainian entry

Is he cleaning up the cabal by any chance? Summat about a child trafficking route?

Back away from the Q nonsense, I thought you might have learned your lessen when Trump didn't crash Biden's inauguration on a shiny white horse to deliver unlimited free energy and hang all the paedos

I think he genuinely believes it rather than being a troll. Sadly I know someone in my extended family who has swallowed the same crap hook, line and sinker. It looks like parody/trolling because it's so nonsensical but there's a very good chance it isn't.

tbh I think you might be being a bit touchy there, I too have spent many years in and around people with learning problems and know how lovely many of them are
However just because they are doesn’t mean Putin can’t be the opposite.
I do think Putin is a special kind of insane, and after getting away with so much for so long had become unbalanced, a case of power literally going to his head.

Putin undoubtedly does have some form of mental health disorder, however people should think twice about some of the language they use when describing those with mental illnesses.

I don't think you understand the words mentally ill I have a grandson who is mentally ill and the last thing he would do is hurt anyone. For me it's a slur on people who are mentally ill.

"Mental Illness" is a blanket term that covers the extremes from learning disabilities, bipolar, depression, OCD, etc to psychopathy and sociopathy - which are exhibited by about 1% of the population. Even then, psychopaths and sociopaths inhabit a lot of boardroom and political positions - it doesn't have to mean that they kill puppies before tea.

Is Putin "mentally ill"? - possibly a combination of narcissism and socio-/psychopathy (with perhaps steroid rage as well) wanting to put his mark on the world before he spends eternity being prodded with hot pokers.

That doesn't mean that people who are mentally ill are all going to do that. Nor is it meant to tar all people that are mentally ill with the same brush. But how else do you describe someone that is exhibiting several symptoms that would trouble a psychoanalyst for years?

If we are labeling Putin as mentally ill based on his actions then we can add to that last a rather large percentage of humans who have ever lived.
