Watched his game closely yesterday. He very rarely gives the ball away. (He did more so in the second half when we were trying to clear the lines). What impresses me the most though is that he’s not just passing short to retain the ball, he’s turning and finding space to hold it, or he changes pace to hold it. Really good player - wish we could keep him.
Going to enjoy watching him the next few months before we never see him in a Barnsley shirt ever again.
This year’s Dike, but smaller, and without the booming shots on goal, and not as strong. But still an exciting player to watch in a red shirt
We dont have anyone at the club who can drop his shoulder and go past the opposition players like him....great to watch and as you say very rarely wastes a pass. He can (like bassi) operate with a football in the space of a phone box......very good control...technically top notch. Hope we can keep him fit.
Our passing success rate as moved up from the days of Palmer and Benson in the 30%.To the 80s% with Quina and Bassi in the side instead. We now have better players.. simple as really. Plus with Wolfe in there that allows the two to cause their damage..
He makes defenders look silly most of the time. So agile and can go either side. Unless we stay up and it’s a loan deal, I can’t see him being here next season. He should probably be at a team that are at least chasing the playoffs. Quina and Bassi could potentially be turning our season around like a certain other tricky winger we once had.
I think he's a very good player. The only minor criticism I have is that he sometimes delayed the pass a little too long - particularly in the first half when Bassi would have been through on goal, but was offside when the pass was eventually played. Him and Bassi have changed our season though.
Very difficult to dispossess. Shows pace and strength with the ball stuck to his feet. Also gets a tackle in and wins the ball back. Must be a nightmare to play against.
Actually thought he was brilliant to delay the pass as it would have been too soon and it forced them to commit/us get another ten yards up the pitch. But then the ball was Vita out wide not Bassi through the middle. I agree though. In every game so far there's been examples of him not releasing the ball early enough. But you let those things go when the performances are top drawer (other than Coventry away).
