A Bluebirds victory tonight would give us the opportunity to go 5 points clear of Derby with 2 games in hand on Saturday. A draw wouldn't be a disaster to be fair. Cardiff are inconsistent, and have lost their last 2, albeit to the teams currently in 1st and 3rd in the league. Wayne Derby have won 2 of their last 8, against Hull and 10 man Peterborough (for balance Derby also had a man sent off with the score at 0-0).
I'm thinking a draw would be best , we keep getting results while Cardiff and all round us keep losing .more people down there the better
I We only need 3 down there though. I'm happy for that to be Peterborough, Derby and Reading. I just think Cardiff, Birmingham and Hull are too far ahead.
I can’t see us gaining the points to catch Cardiff so could probably do with them winning to keep Derby below us.
I've a surreal feeling we're going to do a Leicester City and have a daft run which takes us into mid table and only Barnsley fans will remember how perilously close we came to relegation. I think the players are more than capable and the form showed at the minute is what they should have been showing all season. If anything I feel short changed and that the players owe us this sort of finish to the season. In Quina and Bassi we have two players which more than make up for the loss of Mowatt. Morris has hit form and the defence picks itself. It should just be a cajoling exercise for Poya now he's found a formula.
Come on you sheep-shagging Welsh thugs with your cowardly neanderthal Miwaww manager. Do it for St. David's Day.
I was disappointed we sat off Derby earlier on in the season. I thought they were there for the taking once we equalised. It was only a few shoddy passes that stopped us going 3-1 up then it was backs to the wall stuff. One thing I'd like us to start doing now we've a bit more confidence is standing on the throat when we the opposition on the floor. There's a few results that should have been more comfortable wins or wins in general but they weren't. The QPR one sticks out but so does Forest at home we had two great opportunities in that game to go 2 and 3-0 up before they scored. Luton away was similar I thought we outplayed them first half.
If Carlton Morris does that to Curtis Davies to score on Saturday at Pride Park, it’ll be nailed on that a free kick is given.
Derby cannot afford to lose to us. Simple as that. Pressure is a lot more on them than us. They can't afford to let us go five points clear of them and still have two games in hand.
I just hope we go there with a plan to press them from the off, rather than letting them pass through us. And the subs will be important, given the % of their goals that are in the last 5 mins. I’d feel a lot more confident if Lawrence wasn’t back. He owes them a performance given they lost all 3 games he was banned for.
Yep, definitely need to press and attack them from what I saw. Bielik's their best player after Lawrence and he had to go off injured so might miss Saturday.
