https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/business-60621332.amp So all the major supermarkets are withdrawing Russian Vodka from the shelves. Valid response or PR exercise? Are we soon to see a national shortage of rice and cereal products, also gas used in beer production (serious times) as the supermarkets remove these Russian imports? No, I doubt it.
PR exercise or expression of disapproval? A bit of both I guess. Its a harmless, easy gesture to make that gets a point across. In the longer term I'd like to think we are looking for alternative sources for as many essential goods as possible for as long as Russia is in the hands an unstable mafia thug.
It was pubs, bars and restaurants that started the ball rolling on this. Arc Inspirations in Leeds being one of the first to make this move before others followed. Nothing PR about it. It’s just the right thing to do.
Nothing in the grand scheme of things though is it? What’s £60 to a bar that can be returned to the supplier for a full refund, when you compare it to what’s going on in the Ukraine?
I don’t mean to be funny Helen but it feels like you always battle me on these things. Opened optics will be given away for staff drinks or to regulars. Stock returned to wholesalers and returned to suppliers. All future orders cancelled. The company/brand gets hit long term not the pub who just switch in to another spirit
Not meaning to, just seems more to the point to use stuff up.Can obviously see the point in not putting further orders in.

Sorry to be pedantic, but the name of the country is just Ukraine. “The Ukraine” dates back to Soviet times and is both grammatically and politically incorrect.
