Looks like the missile/bomb impacted in the courtyard rather than hitting actual buildings.

No way can NATO get involved.....it’s a non starter, plays into Putins hands as then he would be able get his country backing him whereas he cannot at the minute. It may sound harsh but the Ukraine have nothing to lose now with a world war 3, rest of the world and us included have unfortunately.

It's an extremely selfish attitude to have though. **** the Ukrainians because it isn't us this time.

What you've just said is that basically you'd be 'happy' to sit back and watch Russia take over Austria, Switzerland and even Europe because they aren't in NATO and so it's nowt to do with us. Defending those countries plays into his hands too.

Unbelievable . Their banning Oliver stones " Ukraine on fire " which is effectively a docu film about the history of Ukraine . Probably the best starting point when trying to understand the Ukraine conflict . Especially the maidan coup which led to Russia's occupation of Crimea . The azov battalion stuff from the 2 nd world war is sobering , no wonder Russians keep saying their fighting literal Nazis . Their is a copy still on there so if you haven't seen it it is a must watch .
I guess we are all going to have to get used to censorship from now on . It will be the new normal and will be cheered on from many quarters . My advice , keep your critical thinking head on !

Yep I did see that copy though their not the official producers . I don't think it will be up for long , it destroys the narrative so will have to go . For anyone reading this thread I'd watch it while you can , a must watch .

This is stuff no one can defend. I'm no supporter of USA / UK foreign policy in the past 50 years. There are limits though. For the record I stand right behind Ukraine, but we need to sober up about our own misdeeds. The difference is this is in Europe & poses a real danger to us all in Europe. If he crushes Ukraine & invades Poland we will be in WW3 territory anyway. Scary. Putin is a monster that a lot of politicians have buddied up to for their own ends. Most of them are on the front bench of the Tory Party, or are their backers.

I don't think there's a single person on here who thinks America is whiter than white.
Have a trawl back and find anyone who does.
So I don't think anyone is ignorant of their policies or misdeeds in the past.
That has absolutely no bearing on what is currently going on in Ukraine though.

You now struggle to find people who agreed with the invasion of Iraq/Afghanistan, despite 70% of people backing it at the time.

It's relevant insofar as there's a certain moral black hole surrounding war and people on the internet calling for more of it and after such events it rarely matters.

Where people are being killed, suppressed I think there is a moral right to intervene. Unfortunately that quickly gets dragged into the mire and original motives all too quickly become murky.
I think there's an unquestionable need for intervention in Ukraine to stop Russia but to do so militarily at the risk of a global war would be a huge gamble. Hopefully the less than effective efforts of Putin's forces and the sanctions seem like they could drive him to a standstill.
If they don't the rest of the world is going to have to stand up to him pretty soon but it's got to be a collective effort not the US dragging the rest along with them. The US stock as the world's policeman is near rock bottom.

I’m personally terrified at how this could play out. Difficult to see where Putin goes from here. Even if he pulled out tomorrow, he’s probably still looking at decades of massive reparations, long term sanctions and trial as a war criminal. Difficult to imagine Ukraine agreeing to a single one of his red lines under any negotiation. If anything I imagine he’s just pushed them even closer to EU/NATO membership. By any standard it’s all gone horribly wrong for him, and he now sounds like a man who’s not gonna stop until he’s stopped. Now hearing talk of chemical weapons and dirty bombs.
