The owner is a UK Citizen, so would imagine that stops him being at risk.

Chelsea football club the epitome of what went wrong with football.

A loss last year of £145m, accumulated debts of over £1bn and a wage bill of around £300m.

Freezing the club will save money for the owner.....

Yeah because you'd imagine there would be no refunds.

The irony is that the Newcastle takeover has only just been approved. Nothing would have happened if Russia hadn't invaded Ukraine.

It has to be because the rules are that in the league the home team keeps all the gate receipts, as long as the away fans who have already bought tickets get a refund then that should be fine.

Seemed very ironic how one Dad had rushed to get into the club shop to get a shirt for his toddler as we heard news of the casualties at the maternity and childrens hospital in Ukraine

I thought Abramovich was an Israeli citizen having been denied U.K. Citizenship.

That said the owner must have blood on his hands/money to have been sanctioned, not that he will be that worried about that.

Maxim Victorovich Demin (born October 1969) is a RUSSIAN businessman. In 2011, Demin became co-owner of then Football League side A.F.C. Bournemouth with Eddie Mitchell, reportedly paying £850,000 for his share of the club. Subsequently in 2015 the club were promoted to the Premier League. In 2015, he sold a 25% share in the club to Peak 6 Investments, although he remains the majority shareholder.

    Also what about Everton?

Farhad Moshiri (Persian: اردوان فرهاد ﻣﺸﻴﺮى; born 18 May 1955) is a British-Iranian businessman based in Monaco. He is the chairman and a shareholder of USM, a diversified RUSSIAN holding company with significant interests across the metals and mining, telecoms, technology and internet sectors. Moshiri is also the majority owner of Premier League football club Everton.

can't they give away match tickets for free and charge £50 for a beer & burger?
or don't they want to lower their refreshments prices too ;-)

That's exactly what should happen. Innocent people like fans and club employees shouldn't be made to suffer. Sell the club and give all proceeds to Ukraine. What I don't get is why 3 have announced they have pulled out of their sponsorship deal. The war has gone on a fortnight but it's only now on the day the owner is sanctioned that they decide to do something about it.
