Yeah the fa get 10% of the gate, so if Middlesbrough only get 45% of what they only sell to their own fans and get nothing then for any Chelsea give away. They would be taking a hit surely, on top of staging the tie with extra stewards and police

Should kick them out of the competition. Will they expect Wembley to be empty if they reach the semi final and final?

I guess it depends on the detail. If it's just a case of Chelsea's allocation being giving away free of charge to Chelsea fans rather than Chelsea making any profit on them, then I fail to see how Middlebrough would lose out whatsover? The extra stewards/police would be factored in regardless of if Chelsea were making money on tickets or not.

Chelsea doing a Chelsea, i.e being absolute bell drops. Tell them they can't have any fans at all and give the allocation to boro', bunch of bairns.

Middlesbrough press release oooof!! "We find it bizarre, for Chelsea to invoke sporting "integrity" as a reason to play the game behind closed doors is ironic in the extreme."

Isn't it disingenuous to criticise Chelsea for that phrase though but then not look at the 'integrity' of the footballing system that allows this to happen? However you look at it, football is corrupt. FFP out the window, billionaire gangster owners with dubious ties to all manner of human rights abuses etc etc.

The government source has 'slammed' Chelsea and suggested they get an owner that doesn't 'have links to a war monger.' Ambramovich has been in post since 2003, that's nearly two decades. Isn't it a bit late in the day to question his position now, when it was allowed in the first place, 19 years ago? By the same token, why weren't Newcastle fans stopped from buying tickets at, ironically, Chelsea, after Saudi Arabia slaughtered 81 men the day before? Or will the government just pick and choose and continue to turn a blind eye to Saudi Arabia? Food for thought. My opinion is that regardless of who your football club's owners are, the fans on the ground shouldn't be made to suffer. They certainly shouldn't be stopped from going to games.

Ironically sporting integrity wasn't a problem a few years back when Gibson had at that point pumped in approx 180 million...

    But that's ok isn't it.

    Sporting integrity my arse

Quite a poor show from Chelsea imo, requesting the game be played behind closed doors! After all, they're one of the "big five" these days. Can't see why their ass is nipping!!

Chelsea supporters trust have asked the club to withdraw the request. As it does not benefit either set of fans.

Sporting Director yesterday was saying Chelsea will be bust within couple of months if not resolved.

Chelsea fans in Lille complaining that they shouldn't be punished as a club for what, "one man had done in his past" o_O
Seriously and with a straight face.

They shouldn’t have spent around £160 million on two forwards then should they (Havertz and Lukaku). This kind of obscene spending can’t be allowed to prosper.

I've no time for that. Not while I'm still worrying about Derby.

Good. While Barnsley fans have been up in arms about £750,000 grand the Chelsea fans have turned a blind eye to the corrupt dealings of their bent owner for two decades. Fèck em all.

Personally I think Chelsea should be deducted points for their "fans" chanting Abramovich's name at the weekend.

This is bang on, Gibson is one of the main perpetrators of throwing money at it to be in/stay in the Premier League. Don’t throw stones and all that.
