We race on the New Course today. But that had already been watered ahead of the meeting, so we are soft, heavy in places, according to Clerk of the Course Pullin. I don't see any of the main fancies today that should be inconvenienced by more testing going, although staying the trip thoroughly will be important.

Two snippets: Five day Festival? No - not for me. It would be bound to further dilute the races staged, and we have already had some small fields this week. It would also be a severe test on wallets and livers!

Shishkin: All down to the ground, Nicky? Again, not for me. The horse has won eight times on soft ground. He had a very hard race at Ascot, which Energumene appears to have withstood rather better than his conqueror. I think Shishkin was bottomed in the Clarence House Chase and he wasn't fully recovered yesterday. He was struggling before the going became an issue, to my eyes.

Looking at the card today with the joke of a first race and an odds on banger I'm not confident. I just hope to take something into tomorrow. I hope Dinoblue isn't another talking horse like Gaelic Warrior was. I'm not confident in Sire Du Berlais because when everything points to a horse my money seems to weigh them down. Been a crap week.

Mate, Dinoblue is the real deal. See if you can catch a rerun of her debut - on heavy ground! Sire Du Berlais is the class of the race, but I'd have a saver on Dunboyne!

Brandy Love a none runner. My week continues to be a beauty

    A few pokes today.

Song For Someone in the Stayers. Don't like any of the front 4 in the betting, and this lad has shaped like he wants to step up in trip. Whether this means 3 miles I don't know, but at the prices it's worth a go.

If The Cap Fits in the Pertemps. Down to a career low mark after finishing 5th in a qualifier. Two years ago he was winning the Long Distance Hurdle at Aintree. Again at the prices it's worth a go.

Spiritofthegames and Cavalry Master will also carry my money in the Plate.

Barely had a sniff this week, so good luck all!

Galopin or bob in the first? Which would you lean to ? I’ve got a free bet so no harm no foul if it doesn’t come in.

Delta Work is 16/1 for the Grand National. Can't help thinking that's worth a little tickle after yesterday!

Agree. I was impressed with the way it stealthily made ground on Tiger Roll.

This morning I couldn't pick between the 2. So I just went with Bob. And then swapped it half way through the morning to des champs

Didn't have a bet in that as couldn't split the two. Horse jumped the fence perfectly but seemed to land on a bit of false ground or something. Can't really blame the jockey I don't think.

Initially I thought it was hurt, but his leg was caught in his reins.

Why had you put a trapdoor after the last fence? haha.

Happened to me once at Aintree on Politilogue a few years back. One of those things.

If Sire du Berlais doesn't pull this out of the bag, my current account will look worse than the Russian Central Bank

If this morning is anything to go by, I'm expecting Allaho to be hit by a meteorite in the next race.
