The United commentators were very complementary about us in first half, professing surprise at how well we play, and mentioned several times that we were the better team. Then came the second half....and the subs
We're so bad in the last 30 minutes that the game has to be dead and the other team must have given up for us to have any chance of victory. Even 3-0 up against Middlesbrough we were very, very lucky to hold on. We played some nice stuff for the first hour today, not for the first time this season either, but we're so criminally unfit and our subs are basically Sunday league footballers that we're passengers for two thirds of every game.
To be fair we should have had 2 penalties today for blatant shirt pulling. As for some of the referee's decisions today, the mind boggles.
Palmer and Cole, every match, there's got to be 2 players better in the u18s to put on the bench, there really has.
Disappointing but beaten by the better team in their home ground. The first half gave us hope but in the end it could have been a cricket score. I do think the sun did Barnsley a favour in the first half and then they paid for it in the second. Well, that and having no bench.
Thing is Sheff U didn’t play that well but have run out comfortable winner’s we just haven’t got many goals in us especially away from home
