Love Roosters. Love most of the breweries that can put out excellent cask ale as well as modern interpretation on keg or in can. The guys at Roosters and Thornbridge are two of the best breweries at that in my opinion.

Neither classed as craft though right? ;)

    Rightly or wrongly mind.

BrewDog did a collab with La Trappe a few months ago. Superb beer at 10% plus from memory. One of the only times anyone has been allowed in the monastery to brew beer with the monks, with a commitment to support villages with drinking water on every bottle sold.

I’m saying all of the above as I wait for my Indian Takeaway enjoying a super refreshing pint of Indian beer Cobra, brewed in Northampton.

Every beer has a time and a place across many walks of life.

Plenty of witnesses from varying locations all saying the same thing - it’s not proven in court, but it’s pretty damning. Lots of investigative journalism rely on allegations, that’s how anything starts of course - someone alleges something, it’s investigated and conclusions are drawn.

Also there’s nothing “alleged” about the way they’ve financed their business and shafted people who’ve invested in the business by guaranteeing a return for the hedge fund investors over the small ones.

I’ve done over 20 Brewdog bars. Usually drink the guest beers on when we go. Probably chalk the Hull 1 off when it opens next month. Going to London this weekend on a Brewdog bar crawl. Not bothered with the black shield bars. Probably end up at Cloudwater on Bermondsey also

The clue was in the phrase ‘beer journey’ ;-)

I would suggest you do a bit more research. Some of the things mentioned in the documentary deserve further scrutiny and we’re unprofessional, but the things you mention about different witnesses at different locations was found unproven and not true. If the BBC choose to not share that evidence with viewers then an official complaint with ofcom is the natural next step, because it’s quite rightly and fairly led to views like the one you have now.

But I work for BrewDog now. Some of the issues covered in the press are from people who haven’t worked there since 2013 and 2015, yet their voice gets more air time than mine and the 50+ people that got together for a sales conference in Edinburgh last week.

Have you sampled most of Brewdog's offerings seeing as you work for them? I quite like the 9.5% Triple Hazy, but I can only manage a couple before I'm dribbling down myself :D

Thankfully not. I end up giving most of my beer away! I tried more beer in my job before BrewDog as a Beer and Cider Buyer for 2,000 pubs.

We get 24 beers free every month that we order with a discount code from the online shop, so you can try most of the core and seasonal ones whenever you like.

Thornbridge, Roosters and Northern Monk are the ones I go for at the moment.

Absolutely. I'd never really go for a craft IPA when I go to my local (if they sold it!), something traditional for me in having a pint of Farmer's Blonde or Landlord. I just love the taste of it and it doesn't taste the same bottled at home.

I'd rather have craft beers at home whilst cooking (Hazy Jane tonight) or going to a brewery. Good with a BBQ too.

If I’m in a decent pub, that I trust, then I’m Landlord all the way. Would struggle to get me to order anything else.

Bread and Butter is a bitter, Life and Death is their big selling IPA. I drink a variety of Vocation beers, I'd not say 'a lot' cos I drink ~10-14 units per week.

Try the Infinite Session beers. Their pale is a really nice drink.

I'd suggest you go to the Atom Brewing Co at the Corn Exchange if in Hull for craft beer. Really good spot.

Infinite Session are great. Gone quiet lately though and haven’t seen their owner for a good 3/4 years so hope they’ve come out of the other side of Covid in a good place.

@scarf - I’ll add Big Drop to the recommendation list. They do a great range so plenty of options, but their Citra and Milk Stout get the plaudits. Erdinger Alcohol Free Weiss is another good one to go with your Guinness and Punk AF. Think Tesco are now doing the Alcohol Free mixed pack from us.

Atom have done an amazing job with the old Corn Exchange definitely the best in Hull at the moment.

like many, Punk was my entry into the craft IPA world although this was quickly backed up with a trip to California where I gorged on Sierra Nevada and Lagunitas for 2 weeks. I rarely bother with Punk these days unless faced with little choice at the bar. Far too many to chose from to spend too much time going back to Brewdog for my beer. That might change when they finally open up in Hull later this spring.

Bread and Butter is also designed for cask and doesn’t work anywhere near as well in can or keg. Superb cask beer - one of my favourites.
