One of the matches is our home game against Wrexham from November 1981. I'll not tell anyone the score and spoil it for those who don't know/remember it. Billy Ronson was playing for Wrexham that day, before he moved to Barnsley the following Summer.

Thanks for the heads up mate. It'll be worth watching just to see God in action. Although they could have picked a better game.... I too won't spoil it :)

Was this the match when the "Oh you cheeky boy!" remark was made by the commentator Kev?

There was even a 2 page spread in one of the children's football magazine (maybe Match Weekly)describing Parkers goal, that was when they didn't just care about the top league

Wonder if they will show the Burnley game from that era. With Martin Dobson moaning about Parker.

    Yep.

Hardworking, inventive striker was Derrick. And he knew where the goals were.

Always rated Derrick Parker. Very clever striker, had a touch of class about him. He was never same after Mick Pickering nobbled him in the 2-2 draw at Swillsboro.

If you mean the back heel it was definitely against Wrexham.

The tv game against Burnley was the one where Ian Banks thundered in a free kick winner in the last minute I think.
They used to use the clip in the programme intro the following season if I remember correctly....?

You'll definitely appreciate Barnsley's goals, Ian, old mate.
Hope you're health is improving, too.

    Now no spoilers mate.
Yes Kev every day I seem to improve. Yesterday I went to Aberdeen for the day and did a walk I could not do 3 weeks ago. In fact I did a 5 mile walk with no breathing problems before returning home. So happy days.

There are two Burnley games that were shown in respective seasons. The first as you all mention was in the 80/81 promotion season Banger scoring a little tap in for the winner Then on the 18th September 1982 we were shown against them again this was on match time and was the second featured game the first being Manchester City V Aston Villa.
