He is a fine player, in the not too distant future he's going to be a superstar, his composure and reading of the game is sublime

Aren't a bad bunch of central midfielders to pick from.

I posted in the thread on Saturday that Bellingham should have started, I suppose Southgate has been able to have a look at two different midfields and formations but for me he's a certain starter, and we should be finding the best players to compliment him.

I replied to that thread saying he was nailed on to start tonight and that the majority of players wouldn't start both games :)

Yeah and that's fair enough, but for me I'd have started Bellingham both games with different pairings, even just for 60 minutes a game. Bellingham & Henderson would've been an interesting pairing, though I did like the starting three of Bellingham, Rice and Ward-Prowse today.

Doesn’t work like that for these double friendly weeks. Gentleman’s agreements with most teams not to play them for the majority of both games, with the odd exception.

Was great to see him start. That’s the positive for me ahead of the World Cup. Super talent.

That second half 'passabout' session wouldn't have happened with Henderson on.

I love everything about Southgate's England. One of its biggest fans.

But there needs the odd bit of experience in the team.

That counts for other teams I like too.

It’s brilliant when he tells them to attack. When he tells them to sit on a result and kill a game it’s very effective, but it’s incredibly boring and often frustrating

Especially if other team starts to get back in the game. This England team hasn't got a second gear yet. It's hard to shut up shop and get going again.

I've said this before, we scored early against Croatia and Italy, cost us a world Cup semi final and euros win, the pragmatic approach after going in front is no good to us
