Id like to say I am surprised they would stoop this low but that would be lying Free parking for NHS staff being stopped from this weekend https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-60921606 At least they are consistent - claps and certificates given out but shaft every other way a cynic might think they are deliberately trying to break the NHS morale and cause the entire service to collapse
Well that can’t be true because the Tories tell us they are too busy ‘leading’ the international response to the Ukraine crisis and internal issues such as Partygate, are ‘fluff’
The free parking ended at Barnsley Hospital weeks ago. That wasn't anything to do with the Tories either to be fair. Not that I'm defending them, want to be clear on that......
Parking charges for patients and visitors was reintroduced on 11th October 2021. Don`t know if Hospital staff were charged also at this point.
Just watched the series of Taboo. ( Yes I know it was on BBC some time ago but it just made it here streamed). Those East India Boardroom meetings are just how I imagined Tory Cabinet meeting under Thatcher with Jonathan Pryce's character being the bully. Sadly the cabinet did not suffer the same fate as the EIC board members in the series after being outsmarted by someone they completely underestimated. Where is there a James Delaney when you need one?
Not sure to be honest. I go for regular blood tests and to collect prescriptions and have had to pay on last few visits. Seems to be a lot of cars on streets around hospital in Pogmoor so I guess it probably does include staff.
My missus goes to work (Bradford Royal Infirmary) half an hour early every day, just so she can get parked up on a nearby street. Otherwise she'd be paying. Not been free for staff there for years.
I worked up at BDGH when they were first introduced, staff used to get a badge for the window whilst visitors had to pay. Should never have been introduced even though it raises a little cash for the hospital coffers, it is essentially taxing the sick and their visitors. I'd rather pay a small premium on my council tax with the money ring fenced for the local NHS services. Blairs Labour should have scrapped them in the time they were in power, they had plenty of time to do so. They only started making a noise about it just before the Tory/Fib Dem government was elected. But you can guarantee if public pressure forced a u-turn on charges, the government wouldn't cover the funding gap..
LibLabCon are all the same, as are the SNP, Plaid Cymru and the Green Party. The establishment Uniparty.
Sheffield Northern General were given 2 days notice to bring this in on Friday 1st April. They are not going to do it until 1st May
If the NHS did collapse and was replaced by a European or Austalian type of health system that would benefit everyone, you might actually get to see a GP and have a baby safely delivered in hospital.
Unfortunately the British people thought Brexit was more important than the NHS and voted accordingly and the Torys gleefully responded . It amazes me listening to some of the racist blue rinse brigade that voted for this corrupt, law breaking , purse plundering excuse of a govt on the grounds of theres too many foreigners and mentioning Muslims that they can’t see a doctor . The Irony hasn’t registered or is being ignored that they thought a Tory Government would look after them and the NHS.
NHS ,sadly not fit for purpose. All political parties that have been in power since its inception should take some level of responsibility for this
Ah,it’s all the NHS’s fault. Those Tory cuts have fek all to do with it. If the NHS was to collapse it would be a massive shame to all in this country. It’s the govt to blame, no-one else. Only selfish cnts would want that.
