A win on Saturday would be taking us 4 points clear if the EFL was fit for purpose. Instead it would put us two points behind.
While ever it's mathematically possible I'm keeping hope. The Sheff Utd defeat was a bitter one to take because I thought we played o.k and gifted them the win. A regulation game that neither team deserved to win. However, this season we seem to find ways of losing games that should be draws. I posted at the time it was a regulation defeat.
To compound that defeat I'm sure I caught covid (though it didn't show up on several lateral flow tests) - the infectious dee dar b@stards.
It was the nine points that made me do the opposite as Reading only had a deferred deduction of 6 points. They also hadn't been charged with any other offences. Had it been six points I'd have fallen for it.
Still irks me that they've been able to spread the punishment over two seasons. Will be very surprised if they start next season on zero points.
