He's gotta go, might as well be now, someone from within couldn't trash the end of the season more than he will and might actually instil some fight.
    Then who for next season?
I reckon we should be looking more inward now, it just takes too long to acclimatise to the the English leagues, too much of the unknown for these up n coming names from lower European leagues. Let's try summat new.
So, for me, lower L1, cos the likes of Gareth Ainsworth ain't gonna come, he'll have a better future at Wycombe. Or top L2.

    Off top of my head....
    Ian Evatt @ Bolton....
    History of winning.
Promotion as a player with Blackpool and Chesterfield. As a manager he got Barrow into the League, got Bolton up from L2.
Worked on a budget, must be a motivator given that club's circumstances, attacking style.
    Could do worse.

Not an earthly he’d leave Bolton for us.

    I’d give Disco a chance.

And I know Wikipedia is probably written by a Bolton fan but.....

Evatt prefers to play attacking possession-based football, with his Barrow team nicknamed "Barrowcelona" due to the attacking football they played. At Barrow he played a 3-4-1-2 formation and used the same system at Bolton Wanderers. He changed to a 4-2-3-1 formation, with Bolton going from 20th to third and achieving promotion to League One. Evatt frequently decides against naming a substitute goalkeeper on the bench, preferring to have more attacking options and has had outfield players do goalkeeping training, just in case. Evatt will sometimes bring on attacking players when winning matches rather than defensive players, preferring to score more goals than defend a lead.

    I'd take that.

It seems to me that Poya organises us quite well. And usually we compete for the majority of the match.

But they do a lot of running about and some of them get tired. And there's practically nothing worth bringing on from the bench to keep it steady, never mind improve things.

We have a team of sorts but no squad.

I reckon with a better set of players, Poya would be OK for us.

Why would he leave Bolton for here ?
We in lower leagues now imo for years to come.
If they not gonna invest after a playoff season then we can expect the worse after a relegation.
Gonna be rattling round Oakwell with closure of the West Stand for years to come imo.

I don't think he would be. He's got absolutely no game management skills at all. Not only does he never bring the right sub on but he leaves it far far too late every week and quite often takes off the wrong players. Even when we conceded he left the subs sat on the bench and then bizarrely took Wolfe off and left Bassi on who had been blowing out of his arse for 30 minutes.

I must agree that taking Wolfe off made no objective sense.

I don't think that we have a "right" sub to bring on though. Benson Palmer Vic Devante Oduor Moon etc. - they do not pull up trees.

Some of the players - Bassi and Quina in particular - demonstrated today why they're turning out for us. They can do much better, but not consistently.

You might take him but sadly the board won't when arsebaggage goes the replacement will be a yes man clone probably from some third rate European league that they'll hope they'll be able to sneak through the visa system and get him a work permit.

The only difference would be that we would have better players in two lines of five, in our own half, for 70 minutes.

Without any doubt in my mind, the manager/coach who has punched above his weight over the past two seasons with average players whom he has galvanised into an effective team, is Neil Critchley at Blackpool. He has done an amazing job with players like Madine and Dougall, who you would have thought otherwise would be plying their trade in Leagues 1, or 2. He can't be on much of a whack at Blackpool, but has the incentive to stay there and they will do all they can to hang on to him, for sure. There is no one better in my opinion out there from the English Leagues with which I am familiar.

I was trying to keep it realistic. Can't see why a comfortable mid table Championship manager would drop to a probable mid table L1 outfit. I doubt we pay more than anyone in the Championship, probably not that competitive in L1. The whole ethos from the owners is the bare minimum in everything.

I’m not wishing to disparage your opinion but why on earth would you think that??
If it’s anything other than pure sentiment why not give it to Barry Murphy?
