I heard the interview. Asbaghi has not got a clue especially about the English game. He has one mind set defend. If he had been brought up in England he would surely have been taught the first line of defence is attack. Well that's what i was taught and i was a bloody goaly

He’s dreadful. We all know the bench is lacking but it’s been lacking under Struber, under Val, under Schopp etc. You can’t just leave players on who can barely run anymore as you think they’re better than what’s on the bench. Get your arm round them, tell them you believe in them & get them fired up. Imagine last season if Val looked at Chaplin, Frieser & Victor & decided to leave them on the bench because they aren’t as good as Morris, Dike & Woodrow. It’s just stupidity.

Bassi’s a lovely footballer & really good on the ball but he’s lightweight & struggles to do 90 minutes well & if you haven’t got the ball what’s the point in keeping him on? If we needed a goal & the opposition were camped in then yes keep him on but he should’ve come off yesterday. When defending a lead I can’t see how it makes sense to take off Styles who does 90 minutes really well ahead of Bassi.

There’s few Barnsley fans that like Carlton Morris more than me, I think he’s brilliant but he needed to come off yesterday as well. He was done. He was struggling in the first half after the knock he took & he could barely run by the end.

They all played like they were on the goodbye list apart from Morris who was head and shoulders again' if the players can't get up for games like this theres summat wrong' a lot of em know they won't be here next season and you could see it in their attitudes' terrible performance and terrible terrible tactics..

I`ve thought Carlton has been carrying an injury for quite a while now. Still gives us what he`s got at less than 100%

Maybe he should concentrate on his own performances. Been a shadow of the player we saw under val.

his previous club record looked like negative boring ***** with a supposed big club of Swedish football - drew or lost al but one of his last 13 games in charge of them, he'll never change, even in League one we'll be sitting back for a 1-0 win if we go ahead against Forest Green Rovers. I said I was done with this guy before Christmas and I've not been since, and nor will I whilever he's "in charge".

I assumed that Styles was brought off, as it was his third game in a week, after his international duty.

I think this season has unraveled most of our players. Big Val was a genius for what he achieved last year.

I agree. Was hoping the international break would help the recovery but obviously not long enough.

For decades I've always thought John McSeveney was Barnsley's worst manager/Head Coach. Unfortunately, both Markus Schopp & Poya Asbaghi have overtaken him this campaign. I'll be very surprised if the club sacks Asbaghi once the season is over, whether we survive or not. Even if he does move on, the next appointment is more than likely to be a coach with a similar background.

If they don't sack him I think it'll be less than 5,000 next year so if that's the decision they make then they deserve everything they get

Callum played 25 minutes in one game and 82 in the other, he’s hardly been overworked. I would have definitely have kept him on! No offence to Clarke but he didn’t really add anything when he came on.

I never listen to his interviews but it felt a bit like he'd been given a trial match to oversee, and the interviewer had been drafted in to question him on how he thought things went in the 'practical' part of the job interview. He was quite happy with his substitutions, he didn't see too much of an issue with conceding the one goal because we also scored, and he didn't seem too bothered that we didn't win. He was more concerned with saying the right words (presumably in case Messrs Conway and Chien had tuned into BBC Sounds to give it a listen), and his main hang-up was explaining to the interviewer why he made the substitutions that he did. You could also tell that he didn't like the interviewer probing his decision-making (or lack of), and he petulantly did the hum humming over the interviewer when the interviewer was formulating a question to either speed him up or put him off his stride because he didn't like the way the questioning was going. What he didn't consider is that he is answering not only to the interviewer but to the fans, and that the interviewer was saying what we were likely all thinking.

There is absolutely no urgency, no 'this was a must-win game and we are very disappointed', no on-the-brink-of-relegation desperation. The problem is that time is quickly running out and he is the manager of Barnsley Football Club. We are literally sleepwalking into relegation with a manager that has his priorities, tactics, and outlook all wrong. I'm in no doubt now that we will go down, and the only thing Poya seems to care about is being able to justify his own stance on how he runs the team, and defend his uber-defensive setup at a time when we need all-out, nothing-to-lose attack. I sincerely hope that if, as I suspect, relegation is confirmed, he walks away with some dignity.

Don't get me wrong, the players need a long, hard look at themselves. One of my main issues with the modern game is that managers come and go so frequently and are seen as dispensable without usually being given enough of an opportunity. I think the players have shown a complete lack of balls; they have felt sorry for themselves and cowered in the corner at times when we really need them to be giants. But I think Poya's ineptitude, dispite the players' shortcomings, is plain to see.

To be honest, when I left the game I felt 99% sure that we were down. When I listened to this interview, that changed to 100%.

Poya just seems to accept mediocrity. No coach worth their salt would've accept how we were pinned back after being outfought in midfield like we were.

I know the players keep saying that he is a nice fellah but they have to say that to keep their jobs but i honestly think they have no faith in him

It’s been a hard job to come in to granted and he is young but he seems to not be learning.

I’m probably biased because I want us to be pressing and on the front foot as much as we possibly can but we just seem to sit back and try to soak up as much as we can under Poya. Only 1 team was going to win on Saturday and it wasn’t us. Draws don’t do anything for us though.

I wouldn’t want him in league 1. We need someone to come in and re-energise us again, like what Stendel did when he came in. Hopefully we can find another Daniel somewhere on the continent.
