6 years ago ,it's gone incredibly fast. We saw Adele at Birmingham Arena on the Saturday. It was a great weekend and they will return one day for Barnsley FC..
Me and Laura had a great day out for the Oxford match. Drinking cider from Tesco Express on the Roundabout because the bars were rammed. After the game we had freedom of the pubs around Wembley. Then back into King's Cross and a lovely pub tea and stocked up on more cider for the train home.
We had such good lads as Mawson, Roberts Connor, Josh Brownhill, Fletcher and Sam Winnall up top. And the wing magic of Adam Hammill. Seems a life time ago to me..
6 years ago and the way things are right now it could be 60. Captain, manager and owner all local and a great entertaining side to watch. We won't see anything like that again under the ownership of these jokers.
I'm no fan of these owners but they stumbled across the excellent 18/19 team and then the 20/21 team. I'd say the potential is there. The club is also ran in such a way it doesn't matter whether it's in League 1 or the Championship. Incidentally, I don't think these players are that bad they'd struggle in League 1. There's a tendency to let results cloud judgement during a relegation season.
If we were to keep all our better players next season I’d say we’d have a decent chance but we won’t. Anyone worth a decent fee will be sold and all the loans will have gone. Add in vastly reduced ST income and I see only a struggle even at the lower level.
It's hard to believe that was just 6 years ago. So much seems to have happened and I'm not sure anything remains from that day (or season). Fabulous day though, and Oxford, both players and fans, helped contribute to it.
