And how will Putin ever be called to account.?
He will never leave Russia again unless its to somewhere he has support and has no chance of being captured.
The evilist of men will live out his days without any chance of being brought to justice.

ukraine's total external Govt debt is $54 billion and its set to pay $7 billion in debt repayment this year. 1/2 is owed to banks and hedge funds, the rest to institutions like the IMF, the world bank and the european investment bank. I'd be more inclined to accept personal sacrifice when all this debt is cancelled. If this truly is a crisis requiring all our efforts, then lets see it. I won't hold my breath. just remember, while we raise humanitarian aid and governments send "lethal aid", banks and hedge funds continue to profit....

The UK's external national debt is circa £6,300bn, approximately 430% of GDP.

Net external govt debt is approx £26bn.

So it's not like we aren't exposed ourselves.

What in real terms would happen if Russia just refused to pay them?
I’m presuming in simple terms it affects their credit rating etc like it would us, could they continue to operate though as a country if they were offered no finance/credit etc?

It would need someone from his inner circle to turn on him. How likely this is, is anyone's guess.

Many soldiers do terrible things in conflicts . They always have - and on all sides. There are no good wars or just wars or holy wars - just wars in which civilians and combatants are subject to some appalling atrocities. If you're on the winning side you can write history and that, with an understandable tendency of 'your people' to look the other way means things are quickly forgotten - at least by the perpetrators and those they purport to represent.

One thing is for sure, if the world manages to get through this particular conflict without nuclear obliteration, then political and economic forgiveness will come very quickly. It always has, following far bloodier conflicts than this one.

Matt Le Tissier has really out done himself today. Sad to see someone you respect as a Football player saying rubbish like this. He's got nearly 500 replies to it already.

Hes deleted his previous tweet 10 minutes ago the last one he put out saying all loss of lives from war is heartbreaking why does the media only focus on this one? Something along those lines i actually agree with.

    • This is a war of Imperialism, where a nuclear power has attacked and devastated a neighbouring country because they think it should belong to them.
    • This is a war instigated by what was a key economic and strategic partner, which will have a significant impact upon our lives.
    • This is an industrialised war, with a functioning state drawing upon its full arsenal of weaponry to inflict the maximum possible damage, shy of dropping a nuke.
    • What war is being ignored? What stories are being missed because of the news about the raped and murdered children?
This is the same as the "all lives matter" ********, a pathetic attempt to deflect attention from a very real tragedy. I don't think it's malicious, he's just thick. The logic and reasoning skill of a twelve year old, convinced that they know it all. Our media is actually pretty good, and there are hundreds of independent journalists working to expose the truth, many of them on the same platform he uses to spread his tinfoil hat ********.

If he believes it he should have kept it up to stand by his opinion.

And yet the integrity of our free press is eroded every day by people confusing politically biased reporting with lies and propaganda.
Yes there are media outlets aligned to a particular political stance, but I don’t think any of our mainstream media, whilst they might put some spin on a story, would outright deny things were happening.

To be fair, at the time, anyone wanting to talk about Hunter Biden's laptop was dismissed as a conspiracy theory loon and it was all obviously a Russian Black Ops - The Washington Post led that narrative. It has now just admitted, nine months after it had received the proof it did exist and does contain some very dodgy stuff, that its real. I mean its not a good look is it? And it definitely doesn't mean because they lied and covered up the laptop story that they are necessarily lying about everything or indeed anything else, but you can see why it should make some people doubtful about the motivations behind the corporate media machine.

Both of those have been extensively covered, including the cease fire that was declared last week. I doubt Le ****** was aware of that, because he's only interested in using such conflicts as bad-faith whataboutery to continue his pathetic campaign against the media.
