If you keep banging your head against a brick wall then it starts to hurt.
I agree with the majority of your posts unfortunately you and anyone else that does is in a minority on here and its a tough ask to keep going but I appreciate that you do.
Please keep talking sense even if not many will accept truth, reason and common sense, showing support for BFC isn't a bad thing.

Hopefully this post will act as a temporary crash helmet for you.

Does anyone remember how many we sold last time in league one? Wasnit around 7.5k? Be interesting to see where we end up this time. Though I don't think the club will be in a rush to let the figure out if it's very low.

That's when I gave up my season ticket after the Morai cluster ****.
I will resume in my investment when we get decent owners who are also willing to invest .
Winning games is more a priority to me than treading water making money.
    That's why football is ******.

I can cope with us not winning. Relegations never stopped me attending. Losing our best players to bigger clubs never stopped me. Now the priority isn't putting 11 players on the pitch to win games it's putting players in the shop window to sell at profit so the owners can use the money generated to pay for the purchase the club so they can sell it on.
It's akin to being a tenant and paying the homeowners mortgage for them.
Much like a landlord they have every right to do that but given the choice I want no part of it.

Pretty much sums my views up in a nut shell.
I've seen more promotions than relegation.
I've seen best players sold on a regular basis.
    I understand we're a small club.
I don't get being on board with these con men who are making us a laughing stock.
West Stand. FAN ZONE . Appointment of poor coaches. The announcement about last season being a failure.
    The treatment of match sponsors.
The lack of investment, at least Patrick put money into the club.
They have set us back 10 years.
And if you think we will bounce straight back up from league 1 we're as deluded as the coach.

How much would you like to pay for the Reading game sir?

I reckon you owe me 50 quid.

For years I've said that entry to games at Oakwell should be free, but you pay to get out. The exit price goes up the longer you stay.

Interesting conversation and calls on TalkSport this morning. I don’t agree 100% but it follows a similar pattern to what was being discussed here yesterday.

Athletico Madrid being labelled anti-football, too defensive, and being challenged around how they can develop the full potential of young players with that kind of style. Some of this is the defensive style and the overall behaviour of players in terms of conning the referee and the dark arts, but it’s a really valid subject.

We were labelled anti-football by away fans, which we weren’t, just because we cleared it quickly and long (and because we were nesting everyone regularly). I personally really enjoyed that battle and the effort/desire we put in to break teams down mentally and physically, but the same point stands that it might be difficult to develop the full potential of players using it.

A happy medium was needed, especially as for the club to grow we need our star players to attract £10 million bids not £3 million bids. But as Khaled admitted, we went too far and too extreme under Schopp - and that combined with the Conway disaster in the Summer is why we are where we are. There was some validity to what Khaled was trying to say but he was too direct in how he says it, for sure.

For the club to grow we need our star players to aid the team in finishing as high up the table as possible such as for example finishing in the playoffs.
For Conway's bank balance to grow he needs £10m bids for players.

Last time I checked it was Barnsley FOOTBALL club not Barnsley player trading limited

Yet he still appointed a coach to replace him that was also reported to prefer a possession based game, and likes to play deep and counter attack. I think that appointment, the delay in sacking Schopp and his failure to bring in an experienced midfielder in Jan have been Khaled’s main failings which cost us any chance of recovering from the disastrous summer.

The way we played our star players would have attracted big bids. But Dike wasn't ours, Mowatt was out of contract and Covid killed the market.
Irrespective of those points it's clear that the priority is selling players. Now that's not to say they don't care about results just that it isn't the number 1 priority.
Clearly cash flow is crucial to the model of paying for the club and this has to be the priority, this is borne out by the court case and the lack of cash flow has lead to the ownership basically defaulting on the payments for the club.

The other way to look at it is, we have to sell players to stay afloat. And staying afloat is a priority over everything.

Don't disagree but we are now sadly saddled with having to fund the purchase of the club and additionally solicitors to fight a court case as a consequence of reneging on the agreement to pay for the club

Just read through all this with my morning coffee and slice of Spicer Olive Loaf.

First thing to notice, we have some passionate fans. The common thread is that this season has been a disaster and the final straw for a lot of fans. For others, unconditional support remains. There is no wrong or right in what is a tragic situation (in a supporting sense). But a lot of the responses are based on the historic period of June 2021 to the current day. Being that the OP is a thread on next season, I thought I would give a couple of caffeine-induced views on how I see June 2022 onwards progressing. So ironically, I will start with a retrospective issue, but one that still impacts next season.

    1) Herbie Kane. Was he left at Oxford because during that window we were almost doomed, playing dire 'football' whilst Oxford were flying playing like Brazil? Was it deemed that he would be worth more at the end of this season because of his spell there, than he would have been trying to fit in to this 5hit shower?

    2) ST renewals. A lot saying 'I'm out'. Currently, I am in that camp. I'd agree with posts in this thread that current opinion is that ST sales will take a massive plunge. But how many times have we enjoyed early summer, before the time comes when the sun and heat get the better of us and we yearn for our national winter game? I've been there. And I think a lot of Nos will turn into 'go on then' during the summer.

    3) Styles. Lots of comments on his value, then and now, and his international call up. Slightly different to Helik, who is genuinely playing for his home nation, who are at a decent level. Not being disingenuous to Hungary (are they 40-something in the rankings?) and no disrespect to Callum for pursuing the international stage through tenuous family links but lets not gloss over the fact he has been a different player this year, not the one who could and should have been seeing his value rocket by virtue of a potential England U21 call-up.

    4) One thing I am looking forward to more than anything, the disappearance of the clusfertuck that is PMG from Barnsley; the club, the town and it's values. I cling now to @Gally 's post about possible better news and hold him fully responsible if it does not turn out to be the news I want to hear :) But one thing I am absolutely dreading hearing, and am already angry about before the event, is Conway's new PMG marketing / media blurb which will not now be just 'We did great things at Nice ......' but it will also include reference to last season at Our Club.
