To be fair, I think we're seeing something that makes some of the Wests interventions seem very mild in contrast. I saw just yesterday that there is evidence of some of the dead bodies (though I don't know of it was when they were still alive, I really hope not) being branded with swastikas which the russian leaders are suggesting proves there need to "denazify" the Ukrainian state. I've no doubt the west have been guilty of illegal invasions and there have been war crimes committed. I don't think we've seen anything like the atrocities Russia are committing since WW2 though.
Apart from in the Balkans in the 90s, the previous time would have been the Soviet march across Germany in 1944/5 when they raped and killed anything they could get their hands on resulting in an estimated 200,000 pregnancies...
Respect where it is due to Boris for becoming the first G7 leader to visit the Ukraine since the war started. The media mentioned the other week he wanted to go but his advisors advised against it. I am glad he didn't listen to them. Yes it is very dangerous but it is the right thing to do.
Only went for his own needs, ie distraction from the **** he’s created on these shores. He’s so desperate to try and get some kudos from somewhere and anywhere. Shame his own govt ministers can’t get the Ukrainian refugees coming to our shores sorted. Forgot to add, Respect my arse
Ukraine has hit and possibly sunk the Russian flagship, Moskva. This is the ship the Snake Island defenders told to go **** itself.
Is this a piss take? He didn't know if he was at a party? Did anyone tell the fat lovely person he was in a war zone, or was he fearful of a piece of battenberg and a glass of prosecco?
Putins way of incriminating his citizens in he Genocide . The people through its sons and daughters in the forces cannot or find it almost impossible to turn against him .
Good job we've got a guy all there in the most powerful position in the world to deal with Putin. I bet he's shaking at what Biden might do next.
You mean like supply the Ukrainians with arms? He may not be the best choice but that's down to America's totally messed up political system. Your only other option would have been Trump. I know which I'd rather have.
Bump...... In all the kerfuffle about BFC and BoJos fine, we seem to be suffering from War fatigue inasmuch as no one has posted on the desparate situation in Ukraine for days. Ukraine war latest news: Russia gives fresh ultimatum to fighters in Mariupol - BBC News The commander has indicated there are hundreds of wounded soldiers "rotting" in cellars. they are completely surrounded and outnumbered and have hours left and need assistance. There are still hundreds of civilians trapped with them under constant shelling. Whilst there is nothing anyone on this BB can do, I suspect most feel like me,,,angry and helpless, but we should all put into perspective what they in Ukraine are experiencing and what we are, regarding BFC and the domestic political situation, which pales by comparison. We should never forgive Putin and his lackeys and never forget Mariupol.
It's too late now, but surely a peacekeeping force should have been sent in months ago. To avoid "war in Europe" we've essentially condemned a whole country and it's people to slaughter.
https://www.thesun.co.uk/sport/1822...invasion-olympiacos-ukraine/?rec_article=true Great stuff by Olympiacos. We should try and arrange a friendly with them as well.
Both UK and US intelligence services warned last year that Putin was going to invade. Biden gets some stick but tbf he sent his top people on a European tour in October to get support, the Germans in particular didn't want to know, having Nordstream coming online. Likewise Italy and France. In January USA sent a good number of Stinger AA missiles plus a few (300) Javelin AT missiles, UK sent 2000 NLaw AT missiles and £1.9b worth of anti ship missiles. In the two weeks before the invasion Biden sent more kit and we almost doubled the number of AT missiles, almost nobody else did anything. To be fair I think they genuinely thought it was sabre rattling from Putin.
Not exactly. He says ideally he’d like to see all military alliances scrapped as he wants a world where they aren’t needed. He’s not come out & said he wants NATO disbanding straight away or anything daft like that which is what a lot of centrists & right wingers are pretending he’s said.
I think we all wanted to avoid it and assumed Putin was just sabre rattling, I’m just saying that I now wish we’d done something up front, where as at the time i never thought it would get to this point.
