Retired from football. Love him or hate him wat a character. Had knowledge, heart and passion. Hated losing and some of the videos in the dressing rooms are a fantastic watch. I personally thought he was alright. Always interesting in interviews and made football a better place.
Stopcock ...before this thread gets watered down and runs for days ...bathe in his glory whilst we sink and become a drain on folks resources....
His stats say it all, he's a top football man and for me he's been a massive plus for football, could listen to the fella all day
Neil Whatnot. Sad to see him go. We all loved to hate him at one time or another but he always had a soft spot for Barnsley. I remember watching him play at Oakwell, that winner in the Cup against Huddersfield someone posted a picture of a few weeks back sticks in my head. And what a manager! You can't knock his record, loads of promotions and with unfashionable clubs like Bury, Plymouth and Notts County too. He'd have kept us up this season with no problem.
Love him or hate him, he was a top manager, I'd certainly would have had him here over Schopp and Poya. Enjoy your retirement, Neil!
Neil Warnock was one of 2 managers who I said if they ever took over at Barnsley I would stop going. The other was Dave Bassett.Shows how much I know.
Legend and far more interesting then modern day media clones that get interviewed. Hugely successful too. He's going to do some evening with nights in Cardiff and Sheffield. If he did one in Barnsley I would go listen to him.
I’d have given my left arm for him to be our manager. They don’t make them like him anymore, proper manager and a proper character too. happy retirement Neil.
Me too. Not sure why so many people dislike him. He's a real character, knows his stuff, tells it like it is. The game is all the poorer every time someone like Warnock leaves it.
Neil Wotsit. Proper footballing man. Still managing into his 70's shows his love for football. Happy Retirement Colin.
