Why do I have this horrible feeling that they’re not going to go?

I do wonder if Sunak exacts his revenge knowing his shot at being PM is gone?

If Sunak resigns and steps away from politics (and why would he want to stay if he can't get the top job now), Johnson has huge problems. Though I suspect he'll still have to be toppled rather than do the tight thing.

Who would have thought it. Wonder if he can get a Tory donor to pay the fine for him and give them a peerage ;)

    So far this week:
Tory MP convicted for raping a child
Fellow MP and former justice minister has to apologise and retract ridiculous statement defending said paedophile.
The prime minister and Chancellor of the exchequer both fined for breaking the law.

    And it’s only Tuesday.
BTW, the convicted child rapist hasn’t resigned yet, so don’t hold your breath over a COVID fine.

It won't be long before a "move on" narrative starts to hit all of our social media feeds. Just like Sunak's line of not attacking his wife (attacking apparently means questioning her tax status) started to be regurgitated by ministers.

My bet would be that we are all told how minor it is, how the met had to issue the fines to appear impartial, and how we can't change PM when there's a war in Europe.

The last point being particularly ironic, given how the current PM likes to consider himself as "Churchillian"

When you say Churchillian, you are obviously referring to the dog in the insurance advert o_O

Because if they had any shred of decency they would be already long gone
I can imagine them saying something along the lines of "These are only fixed penalty notices so hardly a resigning matter ..."
lets face it the child rapist hasnt resigned either its endemic in their thought processes

True. But what a rational person would do, and what Johnson would do are worlds apart.

I'm surprised there hasn't been any tweets from his minions in the cabinet yet. Surely the brief has been sent out to the Whatsapp group by now.

I wonder what natural disaster/war/disease will manifest this time that deflects attention away from his crimes.
