Let me guess - "we need to stop talking about these trivial matters and get on with helping with the fight in Ukraine" - for 10 points.

They'll get murdered in the general election if they don't both go.

That is the thing, isn’t it. Do we want them to stay to hopefully get fully rid?

Now is not the time to get rid of PM, says Conservative MP

Conservative MP Roger Gale was one of those Conservative MPs who earlier in the year called on the PM to resign.

However, he now tells the PA news agency this is not the time to "unseat" Boris Johnson.

"My position remains that the fact that the prime minister has effectively misled the House of Commons is a very serious issue indeed.

But he adds: "We are in the middle of an international crisis and I am not prepared to give Vladimir Putin the comfort of thinking that we are about to unseat the prime minister of the United Kingdom and destabilise the coalition against Putin.

"So any reaction to this is going to have to wait until we have dealt with the main crisis, which is Ukraine and the Donbas."

I really have no words for the lovely Tory people.

Even more offensive to claim they 'are dealing with the Ukraine crisis'. Any fecker, even a lying, sleazy Tory, can give missiles to the brave Ukrainians being killed by the thousands.

I must admit a big part of me thinks it would be best if he stayed for the future of the whole country.

It's the same messaging as covid, they've just swapped it for Ukraine. It filters down. When I spoke to a nurse when I had serious headaches (turned out to be neuralgia), the first thing she said was 'stop thinking it's a brain tumour. It's neuralgia. And there's bigger things to worry about right now with covid..' Couldn't believe it, as if all other ailments should fall by the wayside. And I never even mentioned 'brain tumour'.

As much as it pains to say it, given how general politics has been dumbed down and the media levers being seized at just about every level, I could see DePfeffel (if allowed) getting a small majority at the next GE. There are still an awful lot of people who fall for his culture wars and his isms.

At a GE I think there would need to be another scandal at the time, or, a huge effort by all other parties to align and co-operate to ensure they get a majority over the line, but likely off a reduced turnout.

If they go (they should), I don't think the government competency factor increases much via any of the likely replacements :)

I don't think they will when another 2 years of the cost of living crisis hits people's lifestyles.

Sadly there's far too many in the Tory heartlands who think that voting Labour would lead to an immediate invasion by Marxist stormtroopers sweeping through the land raping their daughters and emptying their bank accounts to burn their money on their front lawns.

I think it could have some effect, but the excuses keep getting trotted out and enough people are only too content to go with the line of "all MP's are the same."

I can see tory losses, quite a few, but I think we're back to 2015 sort of levels unless the oppositions can muster a collective approach. Some seats, only the lib dems have a chance and vice versa.

I find it repugnant that they haven't resigned in the last hour. They have no morals whatsoever.

    They have to go.

They didn't just break any laws, they broke the draconian diktats which did so much irreparable damage to so much of the UK population that they themselves wrote into law (albeit sadly to the simpering approval of the 'opposition')
