There are some very big clubs in League 1 as it stands too. 9 former Premier League (old Division 1) clubs in there (though obviously a couple may win promotion this year).

I was 15 when we lost to Ipswich and 36 when we lost to Swansea. Hopefully I'll see us back sumat like when I'm 57.
We've had more seasons like this one over the past 135 years, than we have had seasons like last year. It just hurts more than usual because they came so close together. I think we're down, but we'll be back up again in my lifetime, and I say that as an old Boomer.
I was replying to some saying our default position is now league one . I wasn’t contemplating a push for promotion every season we’re in the Championship and nor do need to be fighting relegation every season also . Over the years we’ve done well and got into top half positions and others we’ve battled relegation and lots of times mid table . It’s football it’s expected , nothings a given but my aspirations don’t expect glory every season or relegation battles every season but I do hope we try and that’s what’s kept us in the Chamipnship all these years . As I said last year was incompetence on a level i can’t remember in all my years watching and we’ll be in Div 1 for some tone to come imo because of the fall out from it but I won’t accept it as our default division or that it’s our level because of the way things are generally . It’s our level at the moment because of the ownership not because of our perceived status .
I disagree. What's needed is to cut out the mis-management, wastefulness and start recruiting Head Coaches who know what they're doing.
A competent manager and Matty Wolfe not spending six months at a Danish Micky mouse outfit might have been enough…
No such thing as 'our level ' you get what you deserve on and off the pitch. The current organisation at the top certainly don't deserve to be in the Championship with their idiotic plan, but I think we should once again aspire to be a Championship club , consolidate and then see where we go from there. Note to owners , Do NOT piss Championship football away through total ineptitude!
Did you really go all the way back to 06/07?? I thought all our problems were the current owners fault
Just pointing out that for all our successes, they are few and far between, regardless of what era you choose to look at.
It is pointless saying that any level is where a team should be , you get what you deserve on the pitch so what ever league you are in where you deserve to be, if every team accepted their current level then there would be no competition or ambition , history suggests that the championship is our level but next season it will be division one & deservedly so but when we eventually return to the championship that also will be where we deserve to be.
based on that as a percentage the answer to your question is that we would expect to be a lower end Championship team.
History means very little. Our level is the one we find ourselves in based on results. If you were to look at things holistically in terms of support, infrastructure etc then we would fall between 20th in the Championship and 6 in L1 and expect is to flit between the two. As teams like Bournemouth and Brentford show us things can change pretty quickly. At the same time teams like Notts County and York show us the flip side of that.
