As I've said before, there should be multiple budgets, flexed to different scenarios and levels of ST and player sales so we can easily adapt and follow whichever path we need to. I'd just like clarification of this 11,000 figure and the context it was said.
Yes, sources such as Stoke City and Middlesbrough. Though players will mysteriously disappear as these funds come in.
Thanks for that very interesting. I think there is some truth to the assessment that if we had success on the pitch many would be more tolerable of our owners. However it's also clear that the onfield shambles is a result of the way the club is run.
No problem with having a vision if it is supported by a strategy that gives you a chance of realising the vision. Not seen much evidence to date, but you never know.
One of the things I find most frustrating is that (unless I've missed it completely) he still hasn't communicated properly about it. You tell us far more than he has @Gally. Him mentioning issues isn't enough really is it, people still want a full explanation from him. He keeps falling back on the "I would still close it but communicate the reasons far better" message but then doesn't communicate the reasons with any clarity. And the more he does it the more it suggests there's something that he doesn't want to share. Yes, it'd be difficult to say "it was a judgement and with hindsight may have been a mistake" but I'd respect him a lot more for that rather than the continuing vague answers. He could make this issue go away but isn't taking the actions necessary to do that. And unfortunately it also creates a problem in that people wonder what else he's not being transparent about - at least I do.
Tbf I don't think he answered as I expected him to. We had these problems, we had inspections at these dates, we did the remedial work on these dates and the cost was X. As CEO I'd expect him to know that off the top of his head, especially as the decision to close it was his. And given that so little apparently needed doing, why on earth did they not stress the temporary nature of the closure in the initial letter.
silence is wonderful from last night hope the club put something out on the website as for season ticket i will be renewing but on the klarna option of which i messaged the club last week and was told its not in place yet, as of tonight its still not there so wtf is happening think another message shooting off this week
I don't know why, he said it clear as day The bit about Notrs forest being full and him wondering why was nt at the same time as I recall.
We've had success, so there is evidence. The ability to sustain that success has been compromised in both eras of our history where Paul Conway has been at the helm. With competent CEOs and a sound strategy around community, energy, a pressing style, and some flex on the youth vs. experience model, we've actually flourished.
Thanks for clarifying that Helen. Much appreciated. Maybe others misheard, only they can know how else they interpreted his words.
I think you’ve done that one to death , I wasn’t there but even ive grasped he said he is aiming for 11000 , it’s a target unlikely one but just a target . You want to make out he is a totally deluded bloke way out of his depth , he doesn’t come across that way to me
His personal and aspirational target not the targets the business has set or what is baked in to any official modelling.
It was pretty clear from Helens quote earlier, but then 2 people suggested he didn't say that. Then Helen confirmed it in the most clear way possible. We can only base our opinions on actions that are visible. It's clear there are numerous people who are less than effusive about his initial tenure. Spectemur Agendo and all that.
Or maybe Helen misheard/misinterpreted? Given it's two voices vs. one on the ratio front? But that wouldn't help you in this thread and the obsession you seem to have with the number. I don't know why you're persisting to focus on this, despite multiple call outs.
Is that not still.a target? I've set targets in my working life, they weren't all "baked into any official modelling".
I'm targeting myself to win 40 music festivals with BrewDog this year, aspirationally and in my own mind. The real business target is 20, with one in four major cities, as a stretch I think we can achieve with some creative thinking and brilliant ideas.
