The point for me is, (and please take this in the right way, as you, Beth etc have been nothing short of fantastic every time I have asked for anything) - the club has gone past the point of no return for many people. Certainly me, and a few I know. It's gone too far, too long, and the last ditch efforts look cynical. Khalid may be a wonderful bloke, he may be brilliant at his job, but if our CEO's only engage at crisis point, then suspicion will arise. If fans THINK that the owners don't care, then it doesn't even matter if the owners do care - because the damage is already done. It's very hard to change a wounded heart - better not to hurt it in the first place. This lot have hurt alot of very loyal fans. Fans who would have been there regardless. Fans who will opt out.

The praise I would give to our CEO is that he is using the classic deflection tactics to take the heat away from the silent owners. It’s me who runs the club 99% blah blah blah we’ll if that’s the case the first job he should do tomorrow is sack himself. How about giving straight honest answers to the questions he is asked.

Politicians answers flaky responses and again he has said an awful lot but yet we know very little.

The fans will tell him and the locusts that own us what they think when they vote with their feet next season. 5000 season tickets in a dust bowl of a rotting stadium with tumbleweeds blowing around it. Appalling organisation and management from the catering to the car parks to the match day entertainment and experience. Zero ambition and terrible communication. It’s basically a sh*t show from top to bottom.

Even the scoreboard is still awful. Zero investment etc etc it all stinks and it’s his awful to see how it’s being run in this manner.

when the summer sale happens if anything that isn’t nailed down every single BFC fans worry must be the debt that these fools are running up it is totally unsustainable unless they put their hands in their own pockets and pump some funds into the club.

raping and pillaging money from working class peoples season ticket funds to pay off their own bills is abhorrent

the clock is ticking I have serious concerns about going into admin and lack of investment from the silent owners.

we have a CEO using classic deflection tactics and owners who are deaf and dumb and will not face or answer the fans questions

We will have not a snowball in hells chance of even making the play offs in league one this club under these locusts this CEO this manager and their business model will be on a constant downward spiral.

the club is dying under this lot and no land for them means they will just let it rot. They thought they could get their mits on the land and thank god they can’t.

don’t be fooled by the CEO and his public front instead take a good long look at the millions of pounds that we are racking up in debt…..where is the money going to come from to sustain the club and it’s running costs ? Unless they invest the ship will sink,

dark dark worrying times ahead for BFC

To be honest it's not that long ago you made some sort of comment directed at me about people liking replies to you which I was a bit confused about, and when I asked you to clarify what you meant by it you ignored me. You then made a similar statement about likes to someone else a few days later. I don't understand the persecution complex?

I do like you as a poster, but I find you to be incredibly defensive and arsey at times in replies to people. I think because you're an admin on here it magnifies that a bit too.

I don't have any allegiance to anyone on here, I've never met anyone from here and I will always like posts that I agree with, no ulterior motive.

That's very interesting, as I was denied that right recently when an admin on here accused me of being a bully... Deleting my posts, closing threads...

From what I understand the 11,000 is a target if we do well rather than his prediction for next season. I think both are right then

Admin has nothing to do with it really. Be happy to give it up the way the personal attacks keep on coming tonight.

I mean criticising someone’s personality is a bit different to saying I don’t like your opinion, is it not?

As pointed out in another reply, you’ve got history of getting incredibly arsey in discussions with people too. But I wouldn’t go and say that’s your character or criticise you for it. I get defensive because I often get accused of things I’ve never said, dot to dot assumptions, even just now. When I defend myself and point it out very, very rarely does anyone respond with the evidence they claimed.

The defensiveness might come from it being open season on me the last six months as well.

Oh I know full well that I'm no angel, but I don't feel like everyone has it in for me and respond in kind either. There may be a few with an axe to grind for you but not me, and I didn't appreciate the insinuation I was liking people's replies to you. A bit childish and paranoid.

I understand that. I’ve not once tried to tell someone who’s walked away/about to walk away, that they shouldn’t. Sad times

Possibly, although he didn't say 'and of course I've revised that figure in light of the way the seasons panned out," therefore I took it that was the target
I didn't know what had been said at the Garrison in September. And I'm not sure why that figure would have been so laughable then as the season had only just started and it would have been a case of keeping the existing ST holders and adding approx 1000.

Fair enough. I did give you the opportunity to explain what you meant by it at the time, though.

I checked myself and decided not to carry on with it. But I tried to type it so it wasn’t within the reply to you and obvious enough, but blatantly didn’t do a very good job.

I still think the personal criticisms are a step beyond disagreeing with an opinion. And I still don’t think I do the former, but as evidenced tonight have it the other way round. Add it to the list of being told I’m a racist, a US apologist, a right wing nut job, someone in the pocket of the club, the CEO’s lapdog, on the pay roll, and dozens of other things, and you wonder why I might get defensive from time to time?

I probably just need to take a break from here. It’s hardly the inclusive environment so many claim it to be.

Take no notice of people saying stuff like that, it's not worth wasting your energy on. I've not seen you be called racist etc but have seen some of the other stuff to be fair. There is definitely an intolerance of differing opinions on here at times, from both sides of the spectrum.

Absolutely right. This forum, and the world generally, would be a boring place without them.

Really? You honestly don’t come across like that.

For what it’s worth I think you seem to defend the club a little over-zealously at times, always offer an explanation showing things in a less negative light even when this seems pretty infeasible. I’ve not called that out - each to their own. But you also call people out for being more negative than you - even in the knowledge that these views you call out are much more the majority.

Posters on this forum are routinely seen to be ‘happy clappers’ by other Barnsley fans. Read the threads you can see this not to be the case universally - but you can certainly see where this impression comes from.

See the club in whichever light you see fit, voice any opinion you have. But don’t elevate yourself as some beacon of reasonableness and tolerance. You’ve shown as much disdain for opposite viewpoints as most others on here.

I'm not sure that holding a sixth meeting of this kind, this season, is last ditch, cynical or 'only' engaging at a perceived crisis point. If Khaled had not been visible, hadn't hosted such an event until now, I'm sure I'd agree with you. But he's been - to date at least - the most engaging and communicative CEO in my six years at the club.

Last night's event was meant for the week prior to Sheff Utd away, but Khaled tested positive for COVID at the time and so this was a rearranged meet. He last week met with the various local journalists too for over an hour. A third such meeting this season I believe. He's also visited a number of local pubs and engaged with supporters there, as well as the Fan Engagement Forums. Because it's part of my job to know what other clubs do, I feel like we've been as visible, open and engaging as possible, knowing that we've done more of these sorts of events than anyone else. It hasn't always been the case, but since Andrew Clark headed up our department a couple of years ago we chose to go down that route - to be more engaging, to communicate more often.

Whether yourself or others like, trust or appreciate what is said in such meetings, is another topic altogether. But the engagement, the communication, has been consistent in its regularity.

I don't take what you (and others) are saying about certain issues the wrong way, because I fully understand the majority of them. I'm from Barnsley, I have supported the club all of my life. I have lots of friends and family who are similar in that regard. Some of them feel exactly as you do, and I'm inundated with messages from them. But I can only do my very best to try and deliver in my own field. A lot of things that are seen as issues are things I cannot control. I convey the message, I do all that I can. I still try and communicate on here, for example. It would be a lot easier not to. I don't ignore anyone's messages, as you can testify. And our office door in the Ponty End is always open. I'd love to help where I can and I'm open to suggestions.

I don't want anyone feeling like they've got to walk away. It saddens me reading such statements, from people I've known for most of my adult life. And I'm old!

I'm so sorry that people feel as they do and I wish it wasn't the case. Our supporters are the single most important element of this club. I am one.
