The £6.3m was the actual expenditure, any contingent amounts are not included in that figure.

I reckon Conway just doesn’t like to be turned down. We were in for Oulare before Dike weren’t we (and signed Dike when Oulare turned us down). Then went back in for Oulare. And I read the other day we were after Poya prior to Struber. So we go back in for Poya when Conway feels like it, to prove a point. Dreadful business all round.

We were very lucky to survive our first season back, but for Covid I don't think we would have. The Sheffield Wednesday game that was there for the taking they were so poor, and we only got the draw for eg.Just before lockdown.

I agree H, but that season pales into insignificance with the poor showing this season.

I am not sure why you would doubt it as he has always been quoted as a £1 million plus signing but it doesn"t matter really , what ever Derby had us pay they must have been laughing all the way to the bank , he was a very poor signing .

I agree we’ve paid over the odds. But you generally hear a range of values, with the selling club briefing the max figure it could be. I suspect that to get to the £1m+ figure, he’d need to meet certain achievements. But the guaranteed fee would still be over half a million which is still far too much.

I hope the club think twice before paying any sort of fee for a champ/PL club academy player again.

Unbelievably, Im led to believe Schmidt was a good chunk more than that.

Surely it can't be of any coincidence that as soon as the Cryne family have disagreements with the owners that the data on players goes all belly up

I think the summer ‘19 window was worse if you look solely at player recruitment. But the problems last summer ran far deeper.
You can’t just lose all your backroom staff in one go, and skip pre-season and do anything but fail.

I honestly think we’ll be stuck with most of what we class as deadwood. Someone like Luke Thomas for example, no ones going to take his wages on in league one or two so we’re going to have to loan him out & pay a chunk of his wages like we are currently or we’re going to use him & my guess is we’ll use him.

Same with Benson, Cole, Leya Iseka etc.

Unless they’re a complete waste of space like Oulare I think we’ll try & make them work as they’ll be huge contracts by our standards to pay up.

Maybe so but we're those 2 and maybe a couple more on the spread sheet before James Cryne downed tools?

Who knows all i know is while conman was acting ceo he brought us olaure and iseka and benson. My grandma wouldnt need the spreadsheet to work out that oulare was a massive gamble and a waste of snap based on his previous 4 year record at clubs.
Burnley fans said on twitter they didnt think benson would be ready for the championship. And iseka is hardly prolific. Plus he brought us schopp... conway has to take the blame for me no wonder he is not wanting to explain these signings hes had a shocker.
