Who the **** is going to buy Cole? Just asking?

I don't think we'll sell that many. Helik should get 4 million. Maybe Collins, 3 million & Andersen about 2. That would plug the gap & give us a little to play with. Cauley may get sold, but with one year on his contract I doubt we'd get offers over a million. He's a proven scorer in L1.

A lot will depend on agents.

Key difference this summer will be the asking price. Last summer the club were saying it would take a record fee received for them to sell. Won’t take anything like that now, probably a release clause that’s closer to the fee we paid for him. He’s still a threat at set pieces for a team that is good at set pieces generally, and he’s kept mitrovic quiet amongst his better performances.
He won’t be playing in League 1 next season. He’ll be in the Championship or at Besiktas.

Might’ve been able to get those fees as a championship club. I’d be amazed if we get them after relegation.

Helen, come on, let’s be realistic here. Some of them, regardless of manager or coach, aren’t even doing the absolute bare minimum, which is absolutely appalling. They have been an absolute disgrace to themselves all season and they all need a rocket up the arse.
The manager may be *****, I agree, but it doesn’t stop the players doing the absolute bare minimum, and to be blatantly honest, I’m not sure a few of them are doing even that.
You can blame manager, owners, fans, whoever anyone wants to blame. But at the end of the day, if the players aren’t doing the absolute basic minimums right, what can anyone do? I know it’s in vogue to blame the owners and manager at the moment, but **** me sideways, clearly the players, after last season know the basics, and they just aren’t doing it. They are as much to blame as the manager to me; and are taking the piss out of our loyal supporters, who still go to watch them, week in, week out.

Agree about Cole. Who's going to buy him... but we did lol

I think we'll need to sell at least 6 players in the summer, just to stay afloat. 3 Mill for Collins, not sure about that one mate. We're talking about L1 players now. To get £6-8 Mill to stay afloat I reckon Helik, Styles, Collins, Morris, Woodrow, Andersen are all gone. With the 4 loanees that are going back, I'm not sure what that leaves us with. Actually, I am sure....the bare bones of a crap L1 team.

Oh, and by selling players and getting £8 Million, this season will be labelled a success by the CEO and owners. You just can't make this **** up......

You missed Thomas and Kane and release Palmer and Victor:)
Actually although I expect our owners would be delighted to sell all those if it got us the £8million shortfall, I would be surprised if we actually got good enough offers for all of them to be worth selling.
And a decent season in L1 would probably inflate their values so Id be surprised to see them all go this summer.
Helik and Stiles for sure - Internationals playing in the 3rd division doesnt work for them - in fact I wouldnt be surprised if they already have moves lined up, Morris if we get a sensible offer - less sure about Collins Anderson and Woodrow - doubt we will lose all 3

    I'd suggest a numbing agent.

He might be playing for Man U next season, given that his less than stunning display on Monday was still better than Rashford's on Tuesday.

He was superb first half hour. Won every header, several successful dribbles, got his team up the pitch, almost scored with a header he had no right to score with. Like a lot of the team his level dipped a bit after they scored but he’s been brilliant for us. He’s a complete forward for me. Scores all types of goals, strong, pacey, good in the air, good dribbler, can play either side or through the middle.

Let’s be honest he’s only with us because he’s had plenty of injury issues & that’s the only thing that might keep him with us longer.

I am sure there are some decent footballers who would be better than some of what we have, in the influx of Ukrainian refugees (even though they are mainly women and kids!!);) They would give 100% - far more than the self-entitled, overpaid and over-rated shower we have now.

On a serious note, limited talent I think we can all forgive, but lack of effort or commitment and stealing a wage is unforgiveable, especially from well paid 'professionals'.

Which Barnsley manager was is many years ago that encountered a similar attitude from his squad and took them all down the pit to show them what real hard work was and demonstrate how privileged they were to earn a living playing football?
