We interviewed a British coach (I believe). Hence the their previous wage being quoted as £1.2m. Other British coaches applied. I’m not sure they filled out the application in stage one though to be officially considered for the job.
We have no chance of atttacting the manager of Forest Green Rovers. That is painful to consider. I know they've come a long way... but not so long ago leading 4th division managers jumped at the opportunity to join us.
I think other coaches still would. We’re a well thought of club still with great facilities and a promotion from where they are now. I just think the project at FGR rules out Rob Edwards for anything other than top end Championship.
I hope you're right but I fear our name may be dirt within the English game in terms of taking the job on, due to the circumstances any Head Coach has to work within.
He'd be my choice, but as said above, there's little to zero chance of it happening. Is ply because he's onto a good thing at Forest Green.
We definitely spoke to Darren Moore when we appointed Struber. I believe it was Dane Murphy who said so on Radio Sheffield.
I think we have in the recent past been well regarded. Up to the recent past I would have expected us to have a strong chance of getting the FGR manager. Sadly I think everyone else in the game is probably as switched on as we are to the problems behind the scenes. Football is a very small world.
