We'd get murdered if we played 4 4 2 with our central midfield options

I'd be finding out if vita is a possibility for signing for us in league 1 and if he is I'd play him, if not then him and all the rest would be out of the side along with the likes of Palmer, Iseka and Cole whos spineless bone idle performances have contributed to where we are now.

He's frustrated me the last few weeks. Gives the ball away a lot and can't beat a man.

I think it's gonna be a tough 3 games for Disco. Cant imagine the players will show much. They will either already be on the beach, actively looking for moves away, or making sure they avoid injury. I see no point playing anyone not contracted to be with us next season. All loan players may as well return to their parent clubs for me.

If he's not in his disco pants in the dugout on Tuesday, I'm done....

I don't see too many fans wanting Devaney in charge next season if he loses all three games, footballs a very fickle game.
He'll have 100% support on Tuesday and I'd love him to do well, maybe put some young lads on the bench.

No, personally id like to see us win a game of football so let Disco choose the players most able to do that in his opinion.

The results are irrelevant for me personally. It's how he sets up to play, and what he has to say that I'm gonna be interested in.

He's following an almighty mess from the last two managers. We're already down and the games are dead rubbers. If he loses all three I wouldn't be a bit surprised.

Can't disagree with anything you say but if he's going to get the job full time I feel that he needs at least a win to get momentum behind him and the club.

4-4-2 gives a team a greater number of passing options when a player has the ball if the rest of the team do their job.

I've posted this more than once down the years when things aren't working. Applied then, applies now. Copied & pasted from a Hecky thread back in 2018, I think.....

"I don't hold with this idea that we don't have the personnel for 4-4-2. When things go awry, it's the system we should revert (and stick) to. It's the system that we grew up playing, that we played Sunday League - same will apply to these lads. Players understand it - it's ingrained. Did you ever go out to play footy with your mates and do 'owt other than 4 at the back, 4 across the park and two up front? It's simple, adaptable and effective against most other formations if played properly. We over-complicate things. Possibly too late to get this shower to play it well enough to save us, but going forward, I'd nail it down sharpish. 4-4-2, pass and move, find space - either to receive the ball or pull oppo players away from another recipient. Players should ALWAYS be looking to make summat happen. Movement, movement, movement - something we've criminally lacked this season. Wide players push on when the ball's that side, full back making up the midfield numbers. Central midfielders to hassle, niggle, break up play when out of possession, then drop one deep, one forward when we're on the attack. Your two up top can switch between a straight two or one in behind, with one nominee to bolster midfield as needed. It's not bloody rocket science."

My thoughts exactly, I would be wanting to know just who wants to commit to the team for next season and those that don’t would be out of the plans. The time to start planning for next season is now, not in July

3-5-2 under Wilson was like watching a perfectly orchestrated footballing machine at times- but it was right players in right positions with probably the best players the club has had as a collective. But then Harry Bassett came along with 4-4-2 and gave us another sublime season- undone I might add by an Ipswich side playing with wing backs.
I would say formation’s come and go into and out of fashion, these days it’s better to have a flexibility but not by sacrificing structure- at times this season kitching has been playing god only knows what role high up the pitch with both wide defenders also inside the oppositions half at the same time, I don’t know what formation you’d call it, but it was suicidal.

Another option to only fielding 5 players? Make the cretins that have continually let us down endure the rest of the season, and let the likes of marsh come in next season into a team which will hopefully have more than the zero spirit that this lot have.

He can't win either way, fail and he's sacked, succeed and he's sold.
