    Much the same as what's on the official site but one quote stands out to me.

    RS: "There have been different styles from Barnsley teams under the last few managers. What will a Martin Devaney team look like?"

    Devaney: "My hands are tied a bit..."

    Might be nothing in it, but if you wanted to read it as more evidence of board interference in on field matters, it's possible to do.

    Could be read that way. Could be read as they've been drilled into a certain style by the last two managers, and there's maybe not too much he can do to change it in 3 games. or that he just doesn't think we have the players / type of players he would want.

    What I would say is any self-respecting coach, Disco included, should really never accept anyone telling them how to set up. Especially this set of pri(ks

    Probably more like Disco, as a pacy wideman himself, would want to employ two flying wingmen but his hands are tied 'cos we don't have any. He'd probably like a couple of real terriers in centre midfield but his hands are tied 'cos all we have are a few pussycats.

    Fair point actually, I wouldn't mind seeing some Andy Ritchie style football but no Shukers or Devaneys in that squad.

    That’s what I’d love. Wide players taking full backs on, crosses into the box, it’s a simple game at L1/L2 level….or it should be.
    Maybe I’m just a football dinosaur.

    Defenders to pick up the wide men. And not give em the freedom of Barnsley. Would do for a start. I've lost count of the number of goals given away by our full/wing backs. Not picking up their men. Especially Brittain.

    It might be a case of loanees been sent back & a few injuries meaning that the team almost picks itself.

    With a fully available squad he might change system, personnel etc but probably hasn’t got that option

    His hands will be tied by the fact he got the job 48 hours before the 44th match of the season. He’s not going to get a new playing style setup.
