1st reason, people who know nothing about on field matters made decisions about on field matters way beyond their competence and didn't have the intelligence to realise their horrendous mistakes even when the evidence was mounting 2nd reason, people at the club who do know something about on field matters hadn't got the strength of character to stand up to decision makers and tell them they were making a catastrophic mistake either before it happened or when it was becoming more and more obvious that the season was going very very badly.
let me simplify. The reason is that people in power have little interest in on field matters, nor infrastructure. Only return on investment counts. Seems they aren't that good at that either.
Your second point is not entirely correct. Toby Sibbick voiced his opinion (so we are told) and never played for us again
You could have shortened the first one to 'Paul Conway'. The second one is speculation, potentially true but not based on any real knowledge of how the runnings of the boardroom work, and not really a major driver of why we were relegated.
Where were we told this? The reasons for why he left are getting that long I've no idea which one, if any, are correct.
Our physio, leaving also told me enough about goings on too. Really really poor management all round. The arrogance of our owners is that everyone is replaceable and they have the facilities to bring new people in. The emperor wears no clothes seems to fit but it just doesn't seem like there are enough good people to challenge Con-his-way. We now have a CEO who has openenly declared to have 99% running of the club, so let's hope he has no interference. He does have a big job on, with players probably leaving to shore up lost revenue etc.
Yet it was Khaled who stated he directed the change in playing style from that which saw us in the playoffs to that which sees us rock bottom.
We were sitting ducks IMO. The price paid for the football club was a tiny fraction of the money that could be earned by finding just one John Stones and selling for the right price. On paper, that’s a compelling argument for investment as a business proposition. Unfortunately, as we know, football isn’t played on paper, or spreadsheets for that matter.
So the fact the professional football people at the club sat back took their wages and said absolutely nothing while the club went down the toilet is in your opinion nothing to do with why we were relegated. Well forgive me if I hold a slightly different opinion, everybody and his dog could see after I'll be generous and say the end of September that things were going horribly wrong and getting worse not better yet no one senior in the on field footballing side of the business was brave enough or cared enough to stick their head up and say so, first in private and then in public if when the private concerns were ignored. Sorry a few players grumbled but got no support from others.
And if it's true he did order the change ( I don't think for one second it is) why is he still in position after such a disastrous decision. In any other business a CEO supposedly making the amount of disastrous decisions he's made in the first 9 months of his job would be out on his ear. The only reason the CEO is still in post is he's just the human shield and mouth piece for the board and nothing else.
Or maybe they tried to and got overridden like Stendel, even before we'd made it back to the championship? watch the Tyke's tv interview again, it's clear that his definition of experience differed from Conway s even then.
They have a history of getting rid of people who speak out and say things that they don't like. Stendel is an excellent case in point. Said we have a youth team and need experience after Preston? Goodbye Mr Stendel, thanks for nowt.
Toby Sibbick, who appeared to be one of the nicest lads at the club, who went out on loan without complaint and came back stronger, who improved immeasurably under Val and played with a quiet confidence and a smile on his face? The tables turn. Attitude problem, get rid.
last year whilst watching the playoff,2nd leg I turned to my son and said we will get relegated next season, he said dont talk crazy, but we were woeful,we couldnt string a pass together,we hadnt all season, also Mowaat was off Dike was off and I guessed ,Big Val would be too, never put a penny on us to go down as hoped i was wrong ,then they doubled down by deciding to play passing football with a team who been kicking and rushing for a year against teams with older pros going through the motions in a covid no fans no pressure enviroment
The one who did stand up for the club is now at Nottingham Forest..fed up of his constant battles and the meddling from the author of that infamous 21 worded statement The sooner folk accept we are where we are due to all roads leading back to Paul Conway...the sooner we rally and get him and his company out of our club....
Not everything is Paul Conway as easy as it is to point the finger at him we have much wider problems.
Do all roads lead back to Paul Conway though? Or do they lead back to a dead end industrial estate housing Paul Conway. Chien Lee, grace hung and James and Jean cryne?
