Me and the mrs have been to Leeds tonight for a meal and directly opposite the restaurant was a pretty big que for a outdoor soup kitchen for the homeless and people who needed feeding, what really struck me was the amount of people who didn’t look homeless and had probably gone from there homes just to get a meal..........the Mrs was in tears, what the hell has happened to this country when people are having to rely on others to feed them Whilst it was great to spend the evening with the Mrs it really hit home the desperate plight some people find themselves in, I’m not perfect In life and probably never will be but a know one thing Is that I appreciate everything in life, my 2 kids, a roof over my head and being able to have some food on the table........anyhow enough of my rambling
I've often said that I don't understand how people can end up homeless (unless it's through choice) or unable to make ends meet and having to rely on food banks etc long term around here but with these pricks in charge giving payrises to the rich and refusing to help the poor I can only see more and more people needing to rely on volunteers in the coming months. What a horrible country we live in
Given that you have identified yourself as a "non-voter" previously I'd hope it might prompt you to consider how we have ended up in this situation and what you might do to effect change for the better.
I suspect if we do have another general election next year I’ll be thinking about voting because this is a total **** show at the moment
Very sad mate. And just goes to show that we should all look out for each other a little bit more, and show a little more kindness, because we never truly know what people are going through or what their situation is.
Wife and I saw it couple of weeks ago about 7pm, we commented on same thing about how many didn’t look like what you would think of as homeless. Have to be honest it was a bit of a shock to the system as living in Lincoln there is a food bank and homeless aid but it is all in buildings and not on the street like this one.
