He has been retired a while now & his son runs the business so the pies should continue, a sad day ,RIP Percy
As well as the pies he used to go around Hoyland with a mobile butchers van as well, remember it well as a youth. A sad day.
Gutted for his family. A legend in Jump and known far and wide. He had not done the pies for a while. His son continuing with the business. RIP Percy mate. If there is a heaven. I hope God gets chance to try one of your pork pies. He will approve.
RIP. Deserves a solid gold statue outside the East Stand - he's brought me more joy than any Reds player.
Don’t suppose their young un will fancy a pie made from pork though,,,,,,,,what with him being the king of the Jews and all.
RIP Percy. Just a did you know.- Percy Turner worked for and learned all he knows about pie-making from the best Pork butcher Albert Hurst when Albert's son packed in Persy acquired all Alberts Dies and I assume all Alberts's recipes.
Albert Hirsts were still going. Well after Percy left. And was in competition in the sense both were making pork pies still. until Hirsts gave up the business. Percies son has been involved in his father's business for years and took over the reins a while back.
