They will always be remembered not just by Bradford and Lincoln but by all of the football family. Also the young Leeds lad crushed by the wall at St. Andrews on this day too#Bradford #Lincoln #Leeds
I was stood at the Cookoo Lane end of the Manor, Watching Barnsley get thrashed by newly promoted Oxford. That crook Maxwell wobbled onto the pitch at the end. I remember there was a blustery wind that day and that one or more of the Barnsley coaches were late. I think we may have been 3-0 down when they arrived. It is very sad that people have to die before we learn to do things better.
That video footage at the time, of the fire taking hold and spreading with a clock ticking in the corner was chilling. The speed at which it engulfed the entire stand was just unbelievable.
What a crap year for football that was! The Luton riot; Birmingham riot, Bradford fire, and then Heysel :-(
