There isn't any 'defending them'. I've agreed with you.

So where is the public call for words from him?

It's a sad day for this club when we've been relegated without a whimper, the fanbase is angry, yet the CEO of the club's biggest ally is the supporters trust.

Not really. But you crack on. Everyone is entitled to their opinion.

It isn't just my opinion though is it loko. Have you stopped and asked yourself why there's so many people keep telling you that they think you're giving Khaled an easy ride? That they think you are sticking up for him constantly? It's certainly not just me who's said that is it. It's supposed to be the supporters trust not the Khaled trust.

You've literally ignored the point I was making and asking about to have another rant. There is no blind defending of the club. Just a recent focus on what is at the front of most supporters' mind - communication from the owners.

You can disagree, others can disagree, we all will disagree at times. But there's also many that don't disagree. No single opinion or action will ever please a majority, and that is proven in this case. What I take offence and disagreement to is not the opinion but the inaccuracies.

But what does this mean, what valid reason?
In the "Conway Out Facebook Group" thread that got locked, on 5th April you said .....
"I think there's better news for the club in the not too distant future".....what did that mean cos nothings come to fruition yet?
These vague teasers from someone who is obviously more in the know than us average Joes is .......well .......errrr.....a tease.

What inaccuracies? We were relegated. Khaled was CEO. The trust has been his biggest defender recently

Can you point to this 'biggest defender' claim? Or do you really mean we haven't been as critical as you might have liked, and focused our attention on what the majority of the fan base want as priority #1. Some communication from the ownership group.

I for one, think what you are doing Ben, is brilliant. Challenging things in a diplomatic manner.

Surely the trust can write more than one post on their website within a few weeks.

Can I point at the defence? This thread and most of your posts lately. Again I'll say I'm not the only one to make the observation.

Here's what I think. I think you are so full of hatred for Paul Conway (rightly( tha tyou are prepared to overlook the failures and disgraceful behaviour of anyone else. Essentially what you're saying by stating you're only focusing on the owners is that Khaled has a free pass to do as be pleases until Conway speaks to you because he's all you're going to focus on

We're volunteers. We were also involved in a relegation dogfight that at one point we looked like we might get out of. What communication do you think was missing?

Because I started a post stating I wasn't defending the CEO, and then made an observation about him being dug out for saying something that the previous CEO and Head Coach used to regularly say without challenge? What am I defending there? Especially given I've typed 'I agree with you' on the lack of comms.

Respectfully tell you you're wrong in what you think. I've criticised the club and the actions of the club many times this season. I've shared articles I put together and interviews I gave on live radio doing just that. But right now, in the heat of the relegation battle that failed miserably, the West Stand, the vouchers, some misplaced comments in the media, aren't as important in my mind as the silence from the owners. Khaled has made mistakes - appointing Poya is one - but outside of that the rest of the issues haven't directly impacted on our plight. They've contributed to the feeling of apathy or anger towards the club, but when you pinpoint why we had one of our worst seasons in history, the CEO is down the list of reasons.

We'll not agree and you'll continue to try and discredit me. But at least I'm giving you honest, open, and respectful answers above.

Conway will never face the fans again, he's gone past that point now, he believes it's not his remit to face the fans. He's employed a CEO who by his own admission has 99.9% autonomy. So the focus of attention should be on Khaled as it's a waste of time, effort and everything chasing Conway et al, Khaled must be pushed for answers and "speak to the owners" or "before my time" is not an appropriate answer.
He is the link to the owners and he must get those answers required for the fanbase. If he doesn't he is incompetent in his role and should be treated as such by those in a position to pressure him.

I think you're mistaken on one giant thing here, and I can really see why you'd make that mistake and why you'd think it, but I'm bit trying to discredit you at all. I am pissed off with our owners, our CEO, and our club in general. I'm pissed off with the trust for focusing everything on one issue when we have more than one issue going on but you personally? Not at all. I actually respect when you have a proper discussion with me about things like this (which is why I made a sarky comment yesterday or the day before when you said something like 'I'll bow out' because I have a lot more respect for you when you argue your point even if I don't agree with you.

So no I really don't want to discredit you at all I really don't.

Agree on this. But hasn't he done that? We had updates on the ground sharing issue which was before his time. He said on the last media tour that Paul Conway has admitted 'mistakes were made' in the Summer. We've had the 'performance related payment agreed by all board members' for the £750k.

Problem is it's just nowhere near the detail that the majority of Barnsley fans want on different subjects. We want a greater explanation and we want to hear from the horse's mouth - especially on any questions around the multi-club network. Probably fair of Khaled to pass on those ones if we truly do run independently right with minimal to no involvement with the others?

I'm sure you'll have experienced this in life, but you're only able to share with people what the boss is willing to share with you. These snippets from Paul Conway haven't appeased the supporters and only made things worse. Difficult position in my mind.

Given the hindsight I wouldn’t have taken it in the first place (personally).

I think the lack of communication from the locusts is now a side issue ! Personally I would like the trust to start calling for the owners to go asap . They have no interest in the club long term .

That’s not quite true either, is it?
They have an interest in the club long term if it can be used to generate profits that offer a return on investment.
If Everton get relegated this season and Arsenal/Tottenham sign Mason Holgate from them this summer, we might get another 5 million cash injection and they may take an interest again.
We’re in the same position as many clubs in that they are a vehicle to generate revenue for the owners.

Which English league club owners generate a revenue stream for their owners below the premier league?

Serious question as the accounts for clubs, including many premier league clubs, do not support that view.

Do we know what the sell on for Holgate is? Or is it just guesses?
