Absolutely I’m not advocating that this will be their priority but at some near stage it will have to be addressed imo . But I was emphasising the end of the groundshare ideas with the Crynes now more involved .
Granted I have no idea who Anne Quay is, but there’s another Cryne on the Board and PMG/NCC have just been castrated. Huge step forward.
God no, that's the only thing that keeps us safe. We'd be a housing estate by now if Conway could have had his way.
My thoughts exactly. Work on a new lease and ground improvements. Keep it partly council-owned to protect it for the future.
No change at all . Just a change of board members ! will still be the same . They need to sell the club and dissapear fully
From the statement, I interpreted it as the same people but their representative on the new board was Ms Quay. Whether this means there is going to be a out of court settlement ending to the repayment issue, eho knows. I don't get a sense of any changes to the Ownership, just a new board of directors.
All this completely vindicates the council stake for me. I’d personally like to see us go a step further and register Oakwell as an ACV.
Hang on a minute... assuming Julie Anne Quay is now the nominee for the majority of our investors shares, are the Cryne's any more in control than they were?
Better news. But still not the good news I was hoping for. I'll wait for the formal clearout of the existing investors.
I wouldn’t have thought so and I’d be astounded if they had so great news in that respect so that’s one grievance hopefully eradicated. Also I think it was James’s spreadsheet that identified Houriane , Scowen etc so hopefully there’s more of those to come . I yearn for the days when we had simple things to Moan at like “ They dunt Whanto goo up
That’s not true though is it? Removing them from the Board is a massive change. I own shares in BT but have no say in how it’s run. What makes you think it will still be the same?
Brilliant news. Seems like this is heading in a direction we want. Majority stake from more honourable board members, closer to the community and new blood to help, inspire and bring new thinking. I fully expect the former group to back off and the new member to acquire more of a stake. Now it’s time to see what this means. There has been a lot of damage done. I expect season tickets to increase now. With a quick and the right managerial appointment will boost sales even more and give a good period to rebuild. I’m interested to see how the infrastructure is developed and we get away from safety issues, ticketing, detestation, poor service etc etc. also how a fans space will be introduced. Let’s see but this is definitely good news.
My question is more about the investors and it's make up. I think there's going to be a huge sense of relief and a rekindling of hope. The questions remain about who ultimately owns us. The woman they've put forward as representative could have an extremely nominal holding. The least I would hope is that clarity is now finally provided into our ownership and percentage split. Parekh admits bridges need to built, a new era of transparency would be a wonderful way to start demonstrating that.
