The part that stands out for me is where Neerav Parekh says: 'We pledge to put the results on the pitch as the primary driver of everything we do at the Club'. The fact he has felt that needed to be said says alot about us as a club under Conway's control. I can forgive any mistake the club makes provided it is done with the honest intention of trying to improve the club but that clearly hasn't been the case.
This has got to be a positive. Conway out of any decision making position, which is what we’ve wanted. It’s not the whole hog - they’re still the owners - but I can see it all working better without them being as hands on. I like the comment about success on the pitch being the primary aim too. Use the spreadsheet, but be smart and have experience around those young players.
I'm told if you look at the players recruited by Jame's model and those that wern't in the same period of time, the most successes are from those identified by the model. We didn't stick to the plan last summer for sure.
That's not correct. The statement clearly says that some changes have happened at ownership level within the investment group. To what that entails we currently have no idea
The spreadsheet had us aiming for Ivan Toney in the summer of 2019. The then coaching team, weren’t convinced he’d step up to the Champ and wanted a target man, so Smith who is at Rotherham was touted. But Conway wanted Mallik Wilks
Today feels like lip service to try and appease the fans. We still haven't got our club back and I don't think too many people who were in the NAPM camp will be falling for it.
Julie Anne Quay. Founder of VFiles. Interested to see how or why she has come on board. Australian to boot.
Not being funny but even Wakefield AFC have got a recruitment spreadsheet they use to track stats and identify players, l can’t imagine we’ll be ditching the spready anytime soon. That might be sad news for those who favour the finger in the air dark-arts check the tea-leaves recruitment techniques of yesterday. Biggest bllk drops appear to have been when we’ve ditched the spreadsheet and gone off-piste.
Patrick would disagree with you. Never go into a 50/50 business partnership, you can never get anything done. His words, more or less.
What do you mean by ‘falling for it’? They’re not on the Board. Gone. They have no say on operational decision making. What control do you think they still have on how the Club will be run, moving forward?
Having put forward my suggested end of season awards, it is with great sorrow that I learn that Paul Conway wont be attending the ceremony to collect his general fool of the year award. Don't have any particular view on the news of Chiexit, as I don't think Chien Lee is a real person. Yes, there was a man on Sky Sports after the play offs saying that we would be even stronger this season. That was clearly an actor in a comedy sketch. Hopefully, we get to hear from Julie Ann Quay, and she can answer questions like who the investors are? What is the shareholding % within the board? Is she also a fictional character? I'm sure that Bossman would also like to hear her views on squirrel porn.
give over man, short term this the best we could hope for imho, baby steps and all that, at least we are talking about being a football club again
