    So, if this hedge fund bloke is involved, does that mean that the electronic advertisement boards are going to be replaced with privet?

    Kind of true. But the only reason it could happen this Summer is because the four year term for Paul Conway being the investors' nominee had expired. If we'd have had the season we had this year, 12 months before, this wouldn't have been an option.

    So yes, they've been voted off the board for not doing a good job, but this was a one off opportunity to make that happen over the last 4/5 years. My understanding anyway.

    I would agree with the people still on the board are part of the problem . I would also like to see the CEO be replaced . He’s way out of his depth in my opinion . just because conway and chein are not on the board does not mean the the plan will change or more investment in the team will happen .
    There is many things wrong at the club and if these new directors are to be trusted they better start talking soon because I’m still not renewing

    Cant see how things are going to be much different. We still know **** all about the owners (Honk Kong Investment Vehicle) and the extent of shareholding. This new lass is just a front for the investors/owners that we know so little about. Same as Conman and Chien before her. Let's hope she doesn't **** up like those numpties.
    Going back to the "owners", they've put nothing of their own money into the club and are unlikely to do so going forward. Financially we're still going to be in a real mess for at least the next season if not beyond. Whilst it great that the fat controller and Chien won't be involved in day to day decision making at Oakwell anymore, a lot of questions still need answering.

    Yeah it would seem odd to me that someone would be voted off a Board, but still have some kind of influence. Just makes no rational sense, beyond erring into conspiracy theory.

    And legally, he has zero mandate to influence Board decisions. So far, this ‘still running the show’ thing just seems to be based on not very much.

    were you or the trust aware of this or something was going on behind the scenes /happening in advance ?
    as in change of roles etc
    or got to know when the official statement was put out.

    Exactly my thoughts . Fans are falling over praising this news . Yes Conway’s been put in the broom cupboard with chien . They are still the owners in some way or another . The plan won’t change, we are still in the babba regarding woeful players, awful match experience, catering not good enough to feed a dog and many more . I

    We put our statement out straight after the club one. We thanked the current board of directors for keeping lines of communication open over the last six months.

    The difference now is that you have people that genuinely have the interests of Barnsley Football Club in charge of the day to day running of the club. You didn't have that yesterday. Things aren't suddenly fantastic, amazing, rosy. But we're in a damn better position now, because of today's news, to bounce back from this than we were.
