....Well, I'll keep the Dom Perignon on ice for the time being, but just about to raise a glass of Bollinger Grand Anee to the news. All I have to say on it is..........Yaaaaaaassss COYR - look forward to next season now.
Yes, it's got to Nancy - Socios Nancy on Twitter: "Même si la composition de l'actionnariat n'est pas la même, le départ de NCC de @BarnsleyFC est une bonne nouvelle pour eux et surtout un espoir pour nous ! #ASNL https://t.co/lEphddYUzD" / Twitter They are definitely genuinely happy for us but are worried they wouldn't be able to go a similar route as they are 98% owned by Chien Lee and PMG (although again they haven't paid in full yet!)
How do you know that? No one actually knows who owns what and at what %. Nothing at all other than a confusing statement and a director change has been confirmed??
And amen to that. Do you have any thoughts on how influential Neerav will be? Have you met him and does he have the club's interests at heart as much as I'm hearing it suggested?
No idea, I thought it was more Billy Beane thing ala moneyball. Before these guys when James still worked here we used to sign older players etc. Only really stopped following the sale to PMG
Thank you for that. Trouble is that we have no idea. Not that I care tbh. It's the pitch!! The pitch that counts.
As far as I can tell. Neerev has attended more games. And not got more fingers in any other pies so to speak. Plus he issued the statement of intent. To the fans. Gally will have his own view btw.
Yes and have spoken to him a fair few times. Seems like a good guy and a proper fan of the club and hopefully we'll see him take a more prominent role.
It went from using statistics to find good players to improve the team, who, by doing so, would automatically increase in value, to using statistics to find players who it was believed would increase in value, signing as many of them as possible, whether they would improve the team or not, in positions where we didn't need strengthening. A model that completely lost sight of the fact that if a player is not in the team and not playing well then they're not going to increase in value. As for the signings last summer, they just seem bent.
Just a plan to lie to us then eh? He wasn't really in charge and was bullshiting us until the next lot were in place. Nice. Poor lad has been dealt a bad hand. He needs to do now rather than say - if his 99% is still in place.
That's great. I had heard in the early days of the takeover that he was an actual football fan. Good to hear he's been visible at games too.
Not sure that's true at all. Given I am just one person and a whole campaign started called 'Conway Out', which people bragged about having 3,500 members. I also had a lot of people agree with me. You might not have been one of them, but there were others. Plus the BBS is a tiny fraction of supporter feeling.
I know Chien Lee doesn't own 50% of the football club. There's only 80% unaccounted for as we're all aware that James Cryne has 20%.
Right, so I've not thought about this as much as others, but my first take on this is that Lee and Conway will still be pulling strings but through Quay. Probably just a ploy to disassociate themselves so it drives up season ticket sales etc.
Did you get an impression of his view of how we were being run under PMG? Obviously, I can infer what he thought about that from his statement today, and that I assume his vote was one that helped to oust them, but were you already aware of that? Again, I'm assuming you were from statements you've made on here recently.
