Released by Sheff Utd along with Lys Mousset and Luke Freeman
Would he come here do you think if we sold Morris?
Experiences player knocking on now for a Championship team to sign him

Could be the experienced forward we need but can’t see it happening.
Freeman is decent midfield option too but would likely get a championship club I imagine.

Unfortunately we need strikers that score goals. McGoldrick doesn’t score enough I don’t think. Works his socks off still though.

Mousset looked a decent player at oakwell this year but I’ve no doubt he will get a decent champ move this summer.

It would depend upon who the manager/head coach is and how much say he has on recruitment.

I take it that these 3 are not in Heckingbottom's plans for the play-off fixtures then.

I'm pretty sure that Morris would be more than delighted to emulate Grandad Mcgoldricks career !!!
Depends on what fee we could get for Morris and what wages Mcgoldrick would want but I'd never turn my nose up at quality, especially if we can balance the books in the process.

Reminds me of the time we signed leroy lita. Personally id rather we signed players on the way up not on the way down.

He's 34 years old, with a scoring record of 1 in 6. His wages will be high so there's no chance we'll be looking at somebody like him.

    I'd forgotten all about Leroy.
I hope that the new board allow us to have a more balanced (experience , youth, quality loans) squad for next season with the sole aim of having the most effective team that we can afford.

But forever Leroy Lita there a Marlon and a Jason Scotland, who both did excellent jobs while here.. Every transfer is a gamble, some work some don't.

Whatever the makeup of the board, I would hope the general consensus amongst them will be one for the need for experience on the pitch, it's been all too apparent over the last season especially that the young players need at least a couple of older lads to look to when things are going awry, a centre half, centre midfielder and if possible a striker, the talent is undoubtedly there, leadership is not.

We have quite a few players who have played at all levels and got them at the right time for us. Towards the end of their careers
    Joicey
    Clarke
    Biggins
    Fjortoft
    Hendry
    Wilkinson.
    All did a great job.
I certainly wouldn't dismiss a player out of hand because of age.

I think kids are fine when things are going well. It's when they go badly that they struggle. That's when you need a couple of older heads.

All about the attitude isn't it. McGoldrick strikes me as a guy with a good one. Someone in the Championship will sign him up

I agree leroy lita keith treacy ross turnbull matt mills. All had bags of experience on big money and failed miserably. We could do with some experience next season someone who has played plenty of games at league one would be ideal. Do we need mcgoldrick on his way down on big wages? I dont think so.

Im not dismissing him out of age nor am i mistaking age for experience id rather we try sign a player who has played plenty of games in league one but in his prime than a ex prem player on his way down on big wages but thats just me.
