Yeah. The Tories can crow all they like about a new Thatcher statue, celebrating their impact, when in reality, the impact of that party is the amount of food banks dotted around one of the world's wealthiest nations.

    Self-serving, horrible b******s.

I saw a rough stat last week that a third of the worlds food is wasted.

In the developing world the waste comes from the supply chain and failing to get it to the customer.

In the western world, the waste is by the consumer. Either throwing it away before it’s used, or not being able to eat it because too much has been made.

    We should be ashamed.

    Yes that is very possible.
The ringing room is a very dangerous place as a learner.
If you stick at it the rewards are amazing. You go in some incredible places, ie the church towers, ancient churches etc.
I've rung at st Paul's and Westminster Abbey for example.

Mumtaz is the curry equivalent of McDonald’s. In my opinion of course.

Mumtaz was great in the 80s / 90s when they stuck to their roots.
If memory servers there were only 6 combinations of one flavour. Meat / fish / veg ....... half lb or one lb.

I do credit them with bringing Mango Lassi to the masses though.

Thanks for all your suggestions. There's plenty of familiar names on that list, as well as some new pretenders. Having downloaded a few menus, I'm sad to see that the £5 curry with three chapattis seems to be very much a thing of the past! It was 20 years ago, mind!

Jinnah is decent enough. Went there last time I was over there with friends.
