Unless things have progressed at a rapid rate, the messaging from journo's has been more about initial exploratory talks but no shortlist or preferred candidate.

No big loss losing Halme, while he’s been here he’s been largely a sicknote, made of biscuit and not as strong as chip shop vinegar.

Can't see any reason for lack of clarity re: Vic and Palmer, both need to be gone.

Tbf the retained list doesn’t really mean much.

A lot that are out of contract are probably not wanted anyway. So it’s no big deal really either way. We don’t have any major players OOC this year.

For me, I would have offered Halme a contract based on his versatility and usually does ok. The issue is his injury problems.

I cant see any reason for lack of clarity either Surely the club must have decided by now whether to offer them something or not

Im not sure - if he wasn't so injury prone I'd definitely keep him but he seems to be injured for at least 2/3 of every season and I dont think we can afford to carry him - he isnt good enough to be worth the risk

There should be no debate on Vic or Palmer. Both need releasing if we're serious about building a squad to challenge next season.

Matter of opinion - there is a decent player in Palmer and a good coach may be able to unlock it - or not... but I would certainly say its a matter of debate. He really went backwards this year along with just about everyone else and I wont be too sad if he is released but if the club wants to give him a chance with a new and hopefully better HC Ive no problem - he wont cost a lot to keep
Victor is a tricky one - He has his attributes and contributed significantly under Val - it depends on what our other options are and whether Woodrow or Morris stays. Again he would be fairly cheap so not a disaster if he stays, or goes,

Vic doesn't score goals. A striker who doesn't score taking up a valuable squad place seems crazy to me. There'll be better strikers out of contract this summer for sure.
Palmer has a poor attitude for me, lazy and uncommitted. Again, there'll be better options out there this summer, without much spend.

I agree with you about Palmer but disagree with you about Victor , I personally do not think he contributed significantly under Val or in fact under any other coach to be fair, he cannot dine out on the goal he scored at Derby for ever & frankly the lad has never improved & in age terms he is no chicken , he has to go for me .

I think we need a very big broom this summer. I'm not averse to losing everyone out of contract and starting again frankly. What I do think we need are players with a good attitude and some physicality. If we were to keep Victor for another year, I wouldn't be too averse given how many of the forwards likely to stay or be difficult to shift don't have those same traits.

Palmer would be a total waste of time in league one he’s not got the aggression that he would have to face up against most games next season. Vic should go too really even though I think he probably could do an ok job in league one until it comes to scoring goals.

It is a matter of opinion.

Personally both do have something they can offer. But both have not really been what we expect and certainly in terms of improvements.

So, is it really worth keeping them both, when we could possibly use their wages on something that would do a decent job.

Or maybe even use both wages to attract 1 player who would make a big difference.

I think I would prefer the latter.

We've been relegated. We've sacked the first team head coach (yes we did, despite Poya's claims made in order to save face) and his coaches. There's been a boardroom coup, removing the chairman and majority shareholder from the board, and installing two new board members and a new chairman. There's been a fair bit going on. And we still don't have a first team head coach. I'm prepared to cut the new board some slack on this, particularly as it makes no difference if the retained list was released three weeks ago or if it is released on the day of the deadline.

    Adeboyejo is now 24

His stats read as 97 appearances 9 goals.

No question he needs to be released in my opinion.

I read that he's only played 30 games if you add all his minutes together.

Both palmer and viv are simply not good enough . Palmer’s attitude and his performance last year were as bad as I’ve seen from a full time pro. As for victor, he’s had more chances than anyone at the club .I would also get rid of the one truck show pony that is Brittain

I'd keep Brttain. I love Vics attitude but don't think we should offer him a new contract personally, or Palmer.

I would keep the former and release the latter. Although Palmer may have more talent, Big Vic always gives 110%. I'll take effort over (bad) attitude every time.
